Seems like all the bucks are changing their patterns already. I havent seen 2 of my better bucks in almost 3 weeks. Hopefully they are still on our farm and make the mistake of showing back up when I am on the stand.

Been in the stand for about an hour this evening and have already lost 5lbs to sweat, 88 degrees is a little warm. Good thing is I have already had 6 doe within sight, now to get the big boys up on their feet!

Well the plots look decent and I'm getting a good amount of doe and fawn traffic. But no bucks. So unless something changes I won't have much of a shot at a buck till the rut.

Now the question I have is do I take an early doe? I would not mind letting the mature does keep raising the fawns till a little later in the year even though they could survive on their own. Most still have spots. A doe yearling would be the ticket.

Thats what i was thinking about earlier. I think im going to wait and shoot a doe later in the season. It all depends on the situation I guess...

I tried that game last year and it backfired big time. Its always been fairly easy for me to get 4-5 deer a season. I figured I'd wait til later to tag my doe. After I shot my buck the only time I even seen does was when I was shotgun hunting. Im shooting the first one I see this season. LOL

Went out this morning and nothing was going right from the time I left my truck. Ended up shooting at a coyote that tried to attack a doe and her fawn, after that I called it a morning. Thought u might as well check my camera even though it hadnt been out even a week...it was stolen. The day just keeps getting worse!

Checking the cameras after school tomorrow. Hopefully the change from summer patterns to fall patterns will bring some bucks into my area.
