I will sit in a drizzle from around October 20-November 15-20 and I limit my shots to 20-22 yards perfectly broadside to quartering away. I hate the feeling of being in wet clothes. And we all know bow hunting is a game of inches. I hate the thought of losing a deer because of rain

I am on stand, had a yearling come by 5 minutes after I got settled. Hoping to shoot a doe so I can focus on bucks the remainder of the year!

Well figured I'd start with little eye candy for ya guys. Sorry been MIA for a while. Like to say it was work or family, but really was just having hard time catching the bug this year to hunt. Had a busy summer and didnt get to do much and just havent messed with it. Since opener its been warm or raining when could hunt so couldn't go if wanted to. Did get food plot planted so should be good for some late season stuff. If the rain stays away gonna head out tonight for first sit. [IMG][IMG]

Btw the date is wrong on cam, just noticed that when pulled cards and got back home this morning.

I sat last night for my fist sit of the season... my son in law who hunts with me seen 2 nice bucks an 6 does. Had hoped they would come my way. But they didn't. Then I had a nice 8pt walk out and at 37yds. But before I could take the shot he bolted.. my son in law had come down from his stand and was walking out, and the 8pt must have seen him walking out on the other side of the wood.

Ahhh the sound of rain drops on the metal roof of the blind.... lol
The deer are moving though. See them walking the edges of the fields... but not the edge in on.. lol
Even with the rain it's so peaceful out here.

I'm out right now. Sitting on the ground in a cedar tree on the edge of a harvested soybean field.

From what I've witnessed, there are a couple bucks and about three does that bed on the neighboring property west of me and visit this field at last light. I hope to get the bigger buck as he passes by the tree I'm hiding in.

I'm right on the line fence, facing east with the wind at my back. They shouldn't be able to know I'm here until it's too late

I tried to post an update of my first sit last night but the app was acting funny.

I had two small bucks pass about 15 yards from me but neither presented a shot. Probably would have passed even if they did since they were young. My sits early season I'm looking for a big doe. Have plenty of trail cam pics of them just none came by. I'll be back in that spot next weekend so we'll see what happens.

We got some more points comming!!

The shot landed a little high and back. He was slightly quartering away and moving. I tried to stop him but he just kept walking.

The Wasp Jak-hammer did a number on him none the less

Wow, a unicorn! That would make a pretty awesome hide.

Got my score entered. I hope I did it right. I've never scored a buck before. Last year was the first time I entered the contest and I only poked a doe for 50 points. Here is my score card from the score my rack app.

If it's not correct I'd say it is awfully close. I was guessing right about 105. Congrats again on your buck!

I had a pretty eventful sit last night. Saw 3 small bucks and 1 doe. The doe and 2 of the bucks were right below me for quite some time and the bucks were definitely feeling it last night dogging that doe, she was doing everything that she could to get away but they had her cornered. Although they were small that is a sight that I hope never gets old!

Have my first long weekend scheduled for this upcoming weekend, it is going to be 70° but I am not letting that keep me out of the woods. I have never taken a doe with bow so that will be my main goal this weekend. We have four guys on about 100 acres and they refuse to sit all day, I am taking advantage of that going to sit an all dayer Saturday in hopes they bump a buck my way.

Hopefully I can join BB4tw and MIHOYT89 and add some points this weekend!

Nice job so far guys, the rut is near!

Nicely done! Now we all need to get in line and follow suit. Cooler weather is hitting my area this week, so am hoping for some opportunity this weekend.
