[IMG] got another hunting partner this past Thursday. German Shorthair Pointer named Elanor, she is a crazy little one!

I have done very minimal scouting on a piece of land that is close to me, mainly because I have been scouting the other area where I thought I was going to be able to hunt. I'm going to go off of some sign that I saw a couple of months ago. Obviously I'm going to have to be spending equal time scouting and hunting for a while.

That's awesome! She looks like a great partner to have in the woods.

They're great dogs. Super smart and just as stubborn to boot. They know what you want but will do the opposite. Lol. She's beautiful, love that color.

Sorry I've been MIA guys. I have been in Reno working at Tesla since the 28th and finally head home on Tuesday. I told you guys about a new property my brother-in-law and I just recently picked up and I just got a beautiful text from him. This is a great property with endless funnels, food, and water. I think there's a good chance of this guy sticking around through season. There were also smaller bucks and many does on the card he said. This Friday I'm hanging 3 new sets and at least a camera. This very well could be my new favorite property and cannot wait to learn it this year and the years to come [IMG]

Got out this morning for my first hunt of the season. Trying to scout out a new area that is close to my house. Hiked in about a mile, set up, and enjoyed a nice sunrise. About an hour after this I had two hunters come beneath me, followed by another I saw walking on a different trail. Then a fourth guy came out of the opposite direction. Ahhhh, public land... I guess this is what you get when you haven't had time to scout. Hoping to get out on a scouting trip on some land where I can really get away from the crowds.

[IMG] here is a scrape with licking branch I setup this weekend. I added the red lines so you can see where I added paracord, the green is the licking branch and the yellow circle is the scrape. I used paracord to pull a high branch down for a licking branch then I used another peice of cord to pull the tree back allowing the licking branch to sit right over the scrape. I have a dripper up and rubbed some tarsal gel on both the licking branch and tree bark. I created 10 scrapes this weekend and can't wait to see the activity on them.

I love GSPs. My dog Remi is 4. Great with the kids at home and an absolute machine out in the field chasing pheasants.

Man guys I just read everything and it caught up!!! Sorry I've been away for awhile I'm usually very active on the team thread! I've just been swamped with work and life in general that I've been MIA! I had a couple good deer on camera a few weeks ago but since they're shedding velvet I haven't had a shooter on camera in awhile! I'm not to worried about it though I always end up finding a couple deer to chase as we creep towards the end of October! Season just opened up here yesterday but it's too dang warm for me to be sitting in a tree much less wanting to clean a deer lol. Looks like temps will stay warm for the next week or so and then cool back off again!

Just a friendly reminder for contest entries: Remember you need TWO photos that include you, your bow AND the deer. You also have to post the date & time of the kill, your Team Number and a scoring breakdown for bucks

96 degrees today. Hot south wind. Feels more like July than September. Had a nice buck come out of the corn in front of my vehicle so I would guess that being on stand isn't a bad place to be.

STC_0262.JPG I'm hoping to go out for an evening hunt with my son on Sunday. Pretty warm this week but you never know what might show up. I did have this dandy buck up and about a couple evenings ago.

I'm not going to be out for a couple of weeks. Weather is going to be warm and I will need to do some scouting on a piece of public land that is only accessible by boat. Hoping that this area will be less pressured...

Got home and was able to check a camera yesterday evening. I was pretty pleased with the pull. I thought I took two pictures of different bucks but this is the same buck. The picture that I didn't take was a little bigger deer but I would be happy with either one. The next card pull I will make sure I get both of them.
