No luck this morning. I set for 3 hours and only saw one doe. I needed to pull a card on a camera that hasn't been checked for 3 weeks. I decided to hunt there instead. Hopefully, changing spots will change my luck. 20250907_172412.jpg

Shortly after I climbed in the stand, mosquitoes were buzzing around me. I reached into my backpack for my Thermacell. It wasn't in there. I realized I had left it in a storage tub at home. That made for a miserable sit. I only saw one doe this evening. It is back to work tomorrow. Regular archery season starts September 27. There were over 2000 pictures on my card, but only one small 6 point. At least I know where the does are at.

He's better than good! The time he came through there is interesting. Best of luck getting a shot at him. :tu:

That area is really hard for me to get too and hunt. Might try a mobile sit early if those bucks keep daylighting like that

Look again, pay close attention to the location of his tail.

Pretty sure that’s his other leg bud his tail would be thicker, his ears give it away most

I am in the same boat. I totally thought that was his nuts and if P&Y measured on scro size he would make it

Headed out tomorrow for my Montana elk trip. Really looking forward to it. I’ll be mostly off grid until Sept 21. So good luck to any of you out there hunting!

Good luck! Hope you get into some elk!

Looks like the weather is gonna get hot here for the next week so I'll be taking a break from whatever pre-season prep work I was doing to take the boat out and fish a few more times. I still need to deploy a few cameras on one of my local farms and revisit stands and trees I prepped in the Spring, but I'll wait for cooler weather to return. We had some very minor frost in the low areas last Saturday and this Saturday it's going to be 87 degrees.

Good luck on the elk trip. Hope it’s better than the fishing in the UP. We’re having a rough time up here
