The food plot watering has not been going well with the small sump pump I borrowed from work. Waiting on a dude at a truck stop right now for a face book market place deal to get a 2” 158gpm pump. Wish I could get a bigger tank up there (full), but I’m already doing 2200 lbs on the 1k lb
    forks:rolleyes:
And what’s up with the picture uploading? It won’t allow me to insert them

I picked up a new bow yesterday. I have never bought a bow this close to season I was able to put a few arrows through it yesterday afternoon and man it feels good. I’m headed out early Saturday morning to Illinois. Should be there around 10 AM to put some boots on the ground.

After planting last year, we didn’t get rain for like five weeks. I started watering about two weeks after I planted it and at least got it to germinate at about four weeks, then the rain took over. But I am the rain now….

edit: sorry for the explicit pic if it does upload. I can’t post a link or a file, so I don’t know if ya’ll can see them or not.

Darton is one of the oldest archery companies in the business they have been around for over 70 years. Randy Kitts purchased Darton archery in 2020 he is also the owner of black Eagle arrows and conquest archery. This is my second Darton bow. They make great products.

I’ve wanted to give one a try, but nobody close to me sells them. I was interested in one of their target bows in 2021ish when we sold our house and the cash was burning a hole in my pocket. Ended up waiting a year and bought an Elite Rezult for $475 and have been pretty happy with it.

Just went on a 4 mile hike and covered three properties that I can hunt that all border each other. Found some sign of life and bumped one deer. Not nearly as many as what I normally bump. Walked the creek and didn’t find any dead ones, so that was good. I threw up two trail cameras on some historical scrapes so we shall see if anything turns up. The other good news is the hill that used to kill me to climb, it was rather easy now that I’m in elk shape.

Beautiful morning in God’s creation. [IMG]

I'll be hunting from my LW climber this season. Here's one view from my stand. I have good views in other directions as well, since I cleared some lanes. It's located very near where this guy came through, so I'm hoping I'll be there if and when he comes through again during the season. He's a wide one.

I'll be checking my cams this Sunday. Hoping to see he came through again. I check them every seven days early season, and about every three days during the rut.

I'm in Special Regulations WMU 5-D, and my season opens on Sept. 20th. The statewide archery season opens Oct. 4th.

Thank you, Justin, for the Joel Turner help. I have been watching his videos. It is harder than it sounds. I shot a dozen arrows before work, trying hard to focus on my shot sequence. I will be practicing a lot with propose over the long weekend.
