Had this guy come in the other night on my neighbors property, and was at 60 yards. I barely moved, and he caught the movement and blew out of there. But he was back that night and then showed up two days later during daylight. I've got the whole month of January to get on him. There is a guy coming in for muzzleloader season January 2nd-4th, and once he's out of there (assuming he doesn't get this buck), I should be able to play the game.

He has a broken G3, but would definitely still be my biggest with the recurve

I saw 8 or 10 does yesterday evening, and was very close to getting a shot. They were just too nervous. I have a new buck on camera at this spot. I think he may only be 2.5 yo. He will be hard to pass.

I wouldn't even consider passing him! He's got an awfully big rack for only being a 2.5 year old. If that is the case, he must come from a strong gene pool and have good food sources.

I just received approval on my vacation request for next year. I always schedule at least two weeks to hunt. Next year, I'll have the last week in October and the first week of November!

Those are THE best two weeks of deer season. And, if I had to choose one of those two weeks it would be the last week of October, hands down! In fact, next season I'm going to do dark to dark hunts that entire week, God willing. I'm saying this as a Pa hunter.

Well boys, I spent a good amount of time around the holidays cleaning up my hunting season mess and packing all of my gear away. Time to officially say goodbye to the 2025 hunting season. It was a heck of a run for myself and the boys this year. Killed my biggest buck ever, shot my first late-season buck, my oldest son shot his first buck all on his own, and my little guy finally managed to get his first deer down. Tough to complain about those results. Now the taxidermy and deer processing bills....those are another story.

We have the ATA show / Bowhunting Supershow next week in Indy, then the Lancaster Classic shortly after that. Tis the season!

Supply and demand are not trending in our favor for the processer bills that’s for sure time to build a walk in cooler and buy a grinder

I’m gearing up for Lancaster and I can’t hunt the buck on the neighboring property until after the other guy gets out after muzzleloader season this Sunday. If I see a good cold front I may slip back over.

It finally made up to the mid 20s this afternoon, and I a snow day off work. Hoping for a chance at one. 20260126_161631.jpg

I went out tonight too. Not tracks, no sign. And we have a layer of ice that’s loud to walk on. Season ends this weekend. Put out a trail cam so we shall see .
