He sent me a pic of another buck (or the same, I can’t tell bc the picture of the other one is blurry)…”do you think these are two different bucks?” I said it doesn’t matter, get in there and shoot one of them! That property is 1.8 miles as the crow flys from me. He thinks it’s the one he drew on last year and his arrow fell off the nock.

 

Truck is packed will depart 5:00am tomorrow morning. Should be in a tree deep in the timber tomorrow afternoon.

 

First buck for my 9 year old! We were on the ground tucked against fallen down log on a fence row. Got it all on video. Came in perfect for her. Hit him just a touch back but caught both lungs and he crashed within 60 yards.

I am sleeping in the living quarters of the pole building at the private land tonight and attempting an all day hunt tomorrow. I have never let my private sit for this long before. The lack of significant weather events and killing a public buck allowed me to have all my favorite sits for this prime rut weather event over the next few days. We will see how this goes could be great could be awful lol If I feel like I’m not in deer by mid day tomorrow I’ll pry move

Bow hunting has been rough this past week. I've seen 9 deer using the same trail in the evenings. Two were good bucks. I may have them figured out. The only problem is that the trail is 60 yards from my stand. I'm thinking of taking my climber tomorrow afternoon to get closer. The wind has been terrible the last two days. I took the .308 out this afternoon and shot a typical sized 10 point for Arkansas.

I hunted a piece of public this morning next to a private spot my brother has access on. While I was in the stand, I had a small spike come by. Then, whenever I decided to hunt from the ground, I dropped down to this point and called in a small six. My wife planned a one-day family trip since the kids are off school tomorrow, so I had to be out of the woods by 10:30. I get in the truck, and I'm less than a mile down the road when I see this guy walking in the wide open woods headed up to where I just left. Big ol' eight-pointer that my brother has a lot of pictures of. We still had 300 yards to go before he got to where I was, but he was definitely headed that direction.

 

I took the day off of deer hunting yesterday the weather was nasty. Cold and snowy and windy. So I went out and chased ducks around the marsh in that weather instead

Man it looked perfect this morning with the snow coming down. Only saw a doe work through a saddle funnel, so that’s where I’m sitting tonight. Need a buck cruising in day light.
