Good action here too. Drive up an hour to my buddy’s farm he hunts. In a transition zone between cover and fields and a big reservoir. Had a doe coming in but a fork horn intercepted her. Came in with ears laid back like he meant business…she wasn’t going for it. Seen 3 other does all out of range and another small one.

Good buck on camera though where I plan to hunt tonight. And some excellent bucks back home on the property I didn’t think there’d be much on at all. All at night so far though.

Didn’t see anything this morning. Back to the food plot tonight, hopefully this guy comes through a little earlier. I’m bound to see him at some point as much as he’s been through there this week. 865519049985263-40-4-10312025195644-W1003047.jpeg

I saw one lone doe this morning. My son had a button buck and a forked horn walk by his stand. On the plus side, we are starting to see day walkers. One of my target bucks has more character than I thought. [IMG] Resized_STC_0137_1762017033835.jpg Resized_STC_0144_1762017055534.jpg

That deer is insane! Very cool.

I’m on a field edge corner tonight. Behind me is a sub development. Had what appeared to be a decent buck on camera here this morning. Hoping he ventures back.

Right at sunset, I had a spike walk in. He read the script and stopped right in my shooting lane. Too bad he wasn't one of my target bucks. I'm hunting in Arkansas tomorrow. If I can get my granddaughter to wake up, I'll be taking her on the youth hunt. If not, I'll go alone and take her in the afternoon.

Hearing them moving around in the dark is exciting, wondering if a buck might be close by. I love sitting in the dark waiting for first light.

I’m in a tree. Deer moving everywhere again before sunrise. It’s time to let one fly today!

This guy showed up last night…on a property that doesn’t want me to hunt this year because of EHD. Plus side is next year if they let me back there should be some hammers. No. Of the neighbor properties are hunting (or so they say)

Good luck out there guys, and congrats b4ab on a dandy public land deer! That's awesome.

I hunted Thursday afternoon and all day Friday & Saturday. I saw one of my shooters both Fri and Sat morning, both times within 50 yards, and couldn't seal the deal. Yesterday I thought I had him dead to rights, walking right at me, and he either busted me moving or the wind swirled or his sixth sense saved him because he locked up and backtracked away from me.

Spent about 10 hours in a saddle yesterday which is by far the longest I've ever done that. Sat 5 hours in the morning then moved to a new tree mid-day and spent another 5 hours until dark.

I'm off from hunting today - have family/kids stuff to do, and I'll likely be off tomorrow as well - work always getting in the way! I think I should get out for at least one morning or one afternoon hunt the rest of the week, then I leave for KS on Friday afternoon.
