Way to stay the course! With all of the DNR sharpshooting here the last 20 years, our population isn't what it used to be, so we've been shooting does very sparsely for some years now. It's tough to do because shooting deer is just so much darn fun, but it's the right thing for the overall population. Good pass!

That’s been my MO here in ogle. Our heard is way down compared to what it used to be. I’ll shoot one late during gun season if I don’t have any meat yet.

Yesterday didn’t work out like I hoped. I was already a half hour later then I wanted to be and after making the 40 min drive to the boat ramp in the middle of nowhere I realized I left the spot light on the charger at home. It’s a 10-15 boat ride to the area and that’s in daylight no idea how long it’s gona take at night with a spotlight, 0% chance I’m navigating a few miles of the Mississippi River without a spotlight at night. So I had to either just go scout for hour or so before I had to head back to the boat to get off the river before dark or go home. I went home I’m pretty sure the spot I’m going to is getting no pressure and I didn’t want to pressure it until I was hunting it right. I’m going to get there early today about to dress and head that way.

I run the Mississippi all the time, highly recommend the use of lights! I’m assuming an outboard?

Ya I inherited an old 16 ft flat bottom boat and I threw a new 25 horse mercury on it and it’s been the perfect shallow water river boat

I’m planning on doing two all day hunts Saturday and Sunday on the private land. Maybe an afternoon sit too Friday

Perfect motor for a 16 footer. I’ve got a 1648 flat as well and I’ve got a 35hp mud buddy on mine
