A buddy of mine sent this to me. He said it was on his dad's camera. If I had a buck anywhere close to that big, I would ask for emergency leave from work. If that was denied, I may even quit my job!

I’m up in the tree again, hunting an edge were the timber comes to a corner at the bean field. 4 monster scrapes that look fresh today are all within 50 yards of me…this could get good!

Just the two small bucks and a pack of raccoons tonight.

 

Saw about 12 deer tonight. Mostly does although I’m pretty sure I heard a buck snort wheeze twice. At last light, a group of three doors worked their way in tight in the woods next to me but held up until dark.

 

Fat fingered my alarm and switch it to pm last night, so woke up late, then forgot my phone. There were deer in the food plot at 7am, so I couldn’t have got back in these woods anyway.

Anybody have any recommendations on scent free soap that doesn’t dry skin out. The stuff I have makes me itchy as hell.

 

First morning sit. Had a doe skirt by my stand just out of range. I’m gonna sit till about 9:30 fixing to start a home remodel next week so I gotta get some preparation done for that.

Saw my target 8pt this evening. No shot chance. Nice to know he's still local though. Got this pic from 8:18 this morning.

 

I hadn’t been on the river in a few months so I got my boat out and busted the cobwebs out of the motor and made sure I could still get around with how low the river is. I think I’m going to one of the spots I’m most excited about on the river tomorrow afternoon.

I saw nothing this morning. I’ll be back out next week. Seems like it’s the pre-prerut here. Just need some daylight action. Still waiting on some of the OG’s to show up

 

Getting down soon, got in really early today because it was quiet. At 7:00 had something heading my way up the edge and it got spooked by something. Other than that it was a dud.

Had one do exactly what I’ve been waiting on one to do and I blew it. Wasn’t my biggest buck ever but it got me going and I punched the trigger. Skipped it right off the top of his back at 15 yards. Amateur hour!
