It’s getting really hard to focus on work. [IMG]

Look at the difference in body size, that 8 I have to imagine is over 200 lbs on the hoof. At least close to it if it’s a small body 2.5. I don’t think I have ever had a deer this big body wise on camera. Idk what I’m going to do this weekend but it’s my last weekend before vacation. These work days are always the worst.

Finally home from vacation. Season started today the earliest I am going to be in a stand is looking to be Sunday afternoon. The plan is to hunt at my camp or wing it and go try out public that is closer to the house.

Both of them are really good bucks! Hope you get a chance at one of them.

I didn't see squat last night. It was so calm and still you could hear a mouse fart. It was the same way this morning so I came to work instead of hunting. Need to save my time off for when the time and conditions are right. No point in pushing it any harder than I have to right now.

I’m in the same boat. No reason for me to hunt hard right now when there is already lots going on in the woods with skid steers and chainsaws. Looks like I’ll do what I do best

Had a buddy tell me that yesterday and I’m glad you said it as well. Was focused on getting my daughter her deer and now I’ve got the itch to go myself. But since I’m down to maybe one or two farms that I can actually hunt, my best move is probably to stay out until the end of this month. Buddy has offered to let me come up North and hunt his place next Friday so I may plan on that.

I probably would have gone out if we had some wind this morning. But it was 55 degrees with a 1 mph wind and a little bit hazy/muggy. I feel like not only do deer not move very well in those conditions, but I seem to get winded and/or busted somehow by every deer within 100 yards of me. It's like your scent fans out in a big plume around your location, and you're screwed no matter where they come from. I hate getting busted by deer coming from different directions on the same hunt.

We have a front pushing through this weekend and we're going to see our first temps in the 30's on Sunday night. Next week the action should hopefully start to pick up.

There’s a dude on Facebook marketplace fairly close, that wants to trade a lone wolf sit and climb XL for a saddle set up. I can’t decide. I like the saddle, but damn do I get fidgety. The saddle set up is super quiet, but I’m slow getting in the tree. I’ve never been quiet with a climber lol.

I really like my beast stand, and have never been comfortable with the idea of a saddle. I sold my climber it’s basically useless where I want to be 90% of the time

I've had a LW sit and climb for about 20 years now. IMO It's the best made, lightest, most secure, and QUIET stand out there. You will not regret getting one, I promise.

Both get the job done. I like my saddle but sometimes it’s nice to sit down normal and be a little more comfortable. I typically go saddle just because it’s a bit lighter overall and I like to bounce around.
