Good bucks are starting to make appearances at one of my stand sites. However, they are mostly showing up at night. I won't hunt this stand until the wind is out of the North or Northwest.

That first buck with the funky side is sweet! I'd be happy with any of those three, but he's cool as heck. And that last one has a big body on him.

One of the bucks I'm after at my lease was out in broad daylight the other morning. And people say "DonT HuNT OcT0b3R m0rNing$!"

 

Headin in right now to go hang a new stand after the rain and then I plan on hunting it this afternoon!

Those are some nice bucks, especially that 10pt!

 

Scratch that idea…got in here and saw a truck come in and assumed it was the farmer which I thought was odd. But they drove up and it was a kid in early twenties and he asked if I was leasing (mentally preparing myself for bad news somehow some way) and I told him no, but I’ve had permission here for 30+ years. Turns out they are in here logging hickory trees this week….

Not sure when I’ll come back in now since they are out here screwing it all up

Looks like rain Saturday and or Saturday night with a 13 degree temp drop on the high. I still don’t have any bucks showing up on camera, but that doesn’t mean the won’t be there Sunday morning. If there is any sort of West wind, I can make a calculated move and have confidence I’ll at least see a deer.

 

It looks like we are getting the same cold front in Arkansas/Oklahoma. I may get out Saturday evening if it's not storming. The forecast for Sunday morning is a cool 49° with NW winds 5-10 mph. I will finally be able to hunt my best stand.

This is in the area that the aforementioned plan will take place. It looks like a decent buck, but I know that camera isn’t that high up, so he may only be like 2’ tall lol.

 

Hoping to get out for my first hunt this week sometime. Maybe Friday evening. Been shooting the recurve well and ready to get on the board with a doe.

 

This fella was up and about right before dark last night. I had him on another camera a few hundred yards away about 25 minutes before this, which was still during legal light. I'm debating whether to go in to chase him tonight or go to my other farm, where I don't have any cameras out.

I'm going to hunt this afternoon and tomorrow morning, so either way, I'll be hunting this farm one of those two sits.

Was gonna go over and put up a trail cam on one of my properties but reached out to landowner. He owns 143 acres. Said while brush hogging that property they found 25 carcasses.

It was a property where you could see 30 deer out in his soy bean field easy. Lives close to a golf course. Says he only sees 1-2 now. Still waiting on first frost to kill the midge that’s killing the deer. Making some game plans to hunt northern Ohio for 2 days or so during first week of November.
