That’s true. If it’s legal I’m all for folks doing it if it makes them happy. I probably wouldn’t do it with them on a normal year. And I’m fine with them hunting over corn even though I don’t. It’s just the big box blind that kind of gets me I guess. But I can get over that. They’d think it was like a tree house.

Field points and practice heads are all hitting together good out to 50 yards. I have some chores I want to get done this weekend so I’m going to focus on getting those done tonight and do my first sit tomorrow afternoon. Still gona be hot but supposed to a few degrees cooler and a little more wind which should help.

Nice!! Can't wait to see it.

I did nothing hunting-related this weekend minus shooting my bow a bunch. It was just way too hot and I didn't have any desire to go sit in that, let alone figure out what to do with a deer if I did shoot one. Cooler weather coming next week so I'll get after it then.

Found a spot along a field edge loaded with acorns that’s ideal for an early season set that I’m going to hang this week and hunt it. Also wanting to set up a mock scrape using one of them licking stick things out in the field for traffic. What type of tree/branch would be best if you have experience with those

If you can identify a grape vine 3/4 inch in diameter use that. Oak works good if not or whatever you see scrapes under already

Got her on the scorecard. Now it’s all about making it two years in a row in the 200 club rest of season

This weekend was bust! My son and I headed out early Saturday morning for Oklahoma. We arrived well before daylight. I got out of the truck, only to realize I had left my bow at home. In my defense, I only had about 2 hours of sleep. We made the 30-minute drive back to Arkansas. We hunted Arkansas Saturday morning. I saw one doe while walking to my stand just before sunrise. Sunday morning in Oklahoma started out way better with no equipment left at home. My son saw two shooter bucks just after shooting light at 100 yards. The biggest buck was around 150". Unfortunately, they did not walk into bow range. Around 8:00, I had a doe and fawn show up. I was able to come to full draw and get a shot off at the doe. She jumped the string, and I shot right over her back. With daytime temperatures in the mid-80s, I am currently only hunting mornings. Hopefully, I'll have better luck this weekend.

We’re getting rain now and a 12 degree temp drop. I figured I’d let things settle out Wednesday and took Thursday off to try to put a doe in the freezer. Also, I just don’t want to be at work lol.

The buck I got on cam a couple weeks ago showed up on a buds cam this morning, he was actually trailing a doe. Seems a bit early for that, but either way, it's nice to know he's still in the area.

It's never too early to be sniffing around some tail.
