Hello everyone! I really like this contest and would really like to win once lol please everyone introduce yourself and tell us about your plans and goals for the year to get the conversation rolling. I’m Nick I hunt mostly Illinois but I might get some Missouri hunting in this year if I’m successful in Illinois. I have private land in Northwestern Illinois and I live and plan to do a lot of hunting on public land in western Illinois this year. I’d like to make it 2 years in a row in the 200 club but if a 130ish deer walked under me on public I’m probably wacking it lol I’m going to be really picky on my private ground. Mostly we just need everyone to kill deer to win so let’s just do that

I’m Greg from central Indiana. Hoping to get out of the tag soup club this year as last year was a rough one. I’m still not quite over watching biggest buck I’ve ever seen in real life, stand at 80 yards for 20 minutes through the binos.

Just got the food plot in Saturday, no rain for a while, so I’ll have to water it for a few weeks.

Best way to get out of the tag soup club is to shoot the first deer you see lol I hope kill a few of them this year man

Hey all, Travis here from SE Ohio. Been doing g this contest for a few years and always enjoy getting to know folks. This year may be a tough one. EHD has hit our area pretty hard it seems. Not just rumors and hype, I’ve personally found 3 dead deer. Property owner where I hunt said between his property and the surrounding neighbors they’ve found 12 dead so far. You can’t drive down the road with your windows open without smelling a dead one near a creek somewhere. So I’m a little anxious to see what’s left on the landscape.

I haven’t spent much time in the woods scouting because I’m headed out on an archery elk hunt to Montana here in 17 days. It’ll be my 4th elk hunt and I’m hoping to get on the board. Been close before but never brought one home. Once I get back I’ll direct my focus to whitetails and we will see what’s left to hunt. I have in-laws in northern Ohio with good hunting property and can maybe get up there if our woods are dead.

Either way, just blessed to be hunting again this fall. Last October I got hit by a loaded coal truck and I had to sit out all of November recovering. Bounced back to kill my biggest buck to date with a crossbow on December. Ready to get after it!

Hey guys, I’m Brad I live in West Central Alabama. I have a farm we call the “camp” I have owned since 2019 that always has a few good bucks that show up in the rut which is around Christmas. There is a large chunk of public that is about 20 miles from my house that I will hunt a time or two it’s really rough. I’ll be hunting public in Illinois as well. Look forward to getting to know yall and following everyone hunt.

Hey guys Ben here checking in from northern Illinois. Absolutely love this contest and have met some great people on here. Couple familiar faces here for me being Travis and Beaver. Been a slow summer for me for scouting but I’m going to get after that this weekend hopefully. I’m also a die hard waterfowl guy so my time is split not exactly evenly but I hunt my butt off to get us some points!

I failed to mention that I’m a part of a hunting group called Shedding Light Outdoors. We film our hunts and I host a podcast called Shedding Light Hunting Stories where guys come on and share their favorite hunting experiences. Ben was an early guest waaaay back on episode 2 and then again on episode 108.

Always looking for guests so if anyone wants to come on and tell some stories, let me know.

Also, created a logo for us. Thought this would really pop and be visually stimulating…

Jeff here. I've been around for quite a while, but have never been on a winning team, yet. Hopefully, I can help change that this season. I'll be using my CB (sorry for the profanity ) again this season, unlike the last few years, I'll be hunting from my LW climber. I've hunted from natural ground blinds the last few years, and I think my scent has been getting picked up by the bigger bucks, which I know are in the area.

I was having smaller legal bucks coming in very close, but the bigger ones were eluding me. I believe they were busting me before I even knew they were in the area. My stand site is in a great location, so I'm hoping to have better results being 15 feet up.

Here's one that I got on cam a couple weeks ago. I'd love a chance at him. Good luck to Team 7!!! :tu:

Hello, my name is Justin, I live in Illinois, and I don't kill many deer so please don't expect much from me. I'm just here for moral support.

January 5th, 2025- The season comes to close with metaphorical tags in hand. I find my self surrounded by Miller Lite cans that are overflowing from the coffee table as I stare into a blank tv. Not a light on in the house. Is it me? Am I the problem? My wife is sobbing in the kitchen while making me a sandwich.

“What happened out there?” (Tears vanishing into the bread of my salami and roast beef)
“This was supposed to be my year”, I say in a flat, monotone voice.

    IMG_6221.jpeg IMG_6220.jpeg

Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic, but I saw this buck on 01/04, second to the last day. He ran by with another deer at about 40 yards, then stopped on the other ridge 80ish yards away. I watched him stand there for about 20 minutes before he headed away. Don’t know if he’ll be back this year, as we usually end up with bucks just passing through. Next weekend, all cameras will be deployed. This is gonna be my year.

Hey guys, this is John. I live in NW Arkansas, but I do most of my hunting in NE Oklahoma. I have bowhunted for 40+ years. I resemble the old man on the barrel. [IMG]
