Unless someone else wants it, then I will gladly let them have it. I'm sure there are people with better leadership skills here, but I wont let it go without one. :D To be honest, I dont know what a capt would even really do. Name is picked, team picture is up and everyone is checked in and accounted for, as far as I am concerned all that is left is throwing some carbon at our bucks.
You are correct, during the season you may be the one to act as a go-between with Justin, making sure all entries are posted etc. Not much really,it sort of runs itself.
Well fellas, its time to prepare for dominace. Any new stands/hunting spots/trail cam pics getting you pumped up for the year? I just put my camera out yesterday in a spot that I spotlighted a hell of a buck the night before. I'll go back in a few days to check the pics out. Still got 6 stands in the shed that need to be hung too! This season will be here before I know it....
I went Saturday and checked my trail camera and all that was on the SD card was a tree limb that was blowing in the breeze, it took up all the damn memory on the card. So I repositioned the camera and might go check it tonight just to make sure the same thing isnt happening. The camera is now in a different location then where I got the pic of "Seventh Heaven" (the nontypical I showed you guys earlier) down near a swampy area. I have never hunted this area of the property but I have heard from others that hunt there that they have seen a few nice ones including some that were shot and never recovered. As far as stands go, I only have a climber so I have nothing to hang until opening morning.
Another vote for you bud :D as for what a Captain does. just keep tabs on everyone and make sure they check in once in awhile,,,not MIA :D make sure that we know the rules like two pics with bow to enter. If there is somethig that needs to be addressed sometimes the head of the contest will call upon all captains for a decision and things like that. really nothing to it your already doing a great job
I have 8 stands up and we are going this weekend to the bone yard to setup 4 more. I will give alittle update when I get back. Joe, one more vote for you to lead. I can hook us up for a Canada bear hunt. it is about 3600 bucks. Very good outfitter and a chance at a Booner.
Maybe one of these years I will be able to go after a bear, but work is so slow right now. Our shop only has 5 guys working the floor and 2 of them are spending time at the owners house doing small stuff like pressure washing and staining his deck and refinishing his garage floor just to keep busy.

So, is anyone else getting any trail cam photos or have any bucks spotted in their land for this year? I'm starting to kick into hunting mode here and getting out of leisure and target shooting mode. If this rain stop tomorrow I plan to move my camera to another property in hopes of catching whats available there. I have not hunted this land in 2 years, but there was potential there. The only bad part about it is its about 45 minutes from home, where my other place (where "Seventh Heaven" is) is 10 minutes.
I'll be checking my camera today I think. Ive been working on getting a picture of one particular buck for the last few weeks but it still hasn't happened. If its not today then i'll move it to a new spot probably.
