Our Archery season here in Illinois runs till the middle of January. Happy Thanks Giving Everyone!!!!
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Now that I am finally over the bad cough I had, I can get back out there. I will be hitting the woods in hopes to finally bring down my first. Shotgun season opens up Monday so I need to be aggressive. Good luck to everyone else going out.
I have until Jan 3rd so I will probably be MIA for awhile on here so I can get it done. I did screw up on a monster during a deer drive using the gun so now I know where he lives and will give him a week to rest in his bedroom before I go get him.
Hey team last week I started coughing phlem from my chest and just thought it was a cold. I found out yesterday I have a little bit of pnemonia (Spell check) in my left lung so I will probably be out of bowhunting the rest of the year. I gave her hell but it just didnt work out on the buck front but I did manage a doe last Saturday with the 30-06. Its been a fun season and I enjoyed this team a lot. I am going to take a break from everything hunting I think and re evaluate my priorities. Have a great Christmas and a Great New Year! T
Man I hope everything works out ok for you. Sorry to hear. I really enjoyed having you hear. The main reason I joined the contest was to get to know people here better and hopefully gain a friend or 2. I seem to be lost in the shadows on this forum. But if nothing else I think/hope I gained a friend in you (at least in my eyes) Congrats again on the doe. You know how to get a hold of me and I hope sometime between now and Feb. 7th, I can send you a text that says FBBD (first bow buck down)
Well a little bit of good news came to me this weekend. The property I had to abandon due to loggers has now opened back up for hunting. I'm not sure what impact they had yet as I have not had the chance to make it out there. Hopefully one night after work I will make it. This will open up more possibilities since its fairly close and I will be able to have some short hunts after work. I just hope this guy is still walking the property and the loggers didnt chase him off... The bad news is shotgun season just ended today so I am sure most of the boys are laying low.
What a dead weekend in the woods. I hope it picks back up some. I might put my camera back out to see if some of my bucks made it through gun season.
I am finally feeling good and will be back at it this week. Joe stay positive dude and enjoy what is left of the season. T
Peak..... Glad to hear you are feeling better Last week Christine, K12, Louie and I went to Brown County Illinois to an outfitter I know to do some Doe Only Bowhunting...The outfitter offered Doe Bowhunting at NO CHARGE and we were more than happy to have the chance to help him try and control the Doe #'s. Now Coyote's were also fair game and Christine took advantage of the oppertunity and bagged with her bow, on the ground in a shaggie suit wearing blaze orange, standing in a cedar clump a mange ridden coyote while he was loping along. And she got one heck of a shot and the yote didnt go far My husband Louie got a Doe but we didnt get a photo and I got a Doe which we forget to take a photo in the field of, so a truck photo after we got home was all we got. We did have a great time
