Sleepless night, I get really emotional about it. I hate wounding an animal. We are sure she'll survive, the blood was just specks on the grass and reeds. I went back this morning but no sign. She must have ran 250yds and didn't sneeze blood at all. The total amount of blood we found wouldn't make a decent nosebleed. Oh well pulled my stand and I'm off to WI on Thurs. Gotta get back in the saddle!

You said it right there. Its one of those things you cant dwell on or it will ruin your season.

Yep, only saw 1 doe tonight to. No shot available.

Thats more than I expected after the squirrel hunters coming through not to mention a very scary experience I had. I will just leave it at that though.

I have no doubt that Andy's doe will be fine. To be honest I am amazed we were able to track her as far as we did. We were literaly following single drops or the smallest amount on brush that were spaced out 10-15 yards apart. How we even found most of those is beyond me. I wouldn't be surprised if she turned out to be one of them we busted while looking. Go get em in Wisconsin now!

    Well ^%&%**)(*&%^^%

I lost my good hunting property tonight. The one where the non-typical is. My buddy rents 500 acres off a farming company. Well they signed a contract to have loggers come in to do some logging until Dec 31st. They do not want any hunters in there while they are doing it. So now all I have is a piece that is 1 hour away which will not allow me to hunt as much throughout the week after work.

The good I will take out of this though, it will allow me to focus on the piece I can still hunt and learn it better. By the way there is a nice buck I got on cam there to.

Last weekend I only saw one deer. They were bedded in the bean fields the week before now all the leaves are gone on the beans. I am sure they have moved to bedding in the corn fields and timber now. That changes the game it is a good thing I have 14 stands up and it just so happens i have 3 setup just for this. I will be out this weekend again.

We have a ridge we do not hunt at all until Nov. I was glassing this ridge last weekend and it already has a fair amount of rubs on it. I did get a photo off the food plot of what I think is a 3x6 buck that looks to be 3.5 to 4.5 years old. Short tines with a big inside spread he will not score well.

    Trail photo attached.

Neat looking buck RT :) Well I have had some ups and downs. The downs, just before I started my vacation My sons truck broke down as well as my lawn tractor  I finally have them both fixed, and will now be able to hunt more. ;) I saw notta this morning. But I checked out a spot that I found last shed season that had a hell of a rub line and some old scrapes. I also found a set of 140" sheds not far from there last shed season. In the early season I checked it out, and just found 2 small early scrapes. Today it yeilded 7 large fresh scrapes and about 15 large rubs scattered about, and some very large tracks all over. I now have a stand hung there but will wait till just the right time to hunt it with a good wind and a cool crisp day. Me and my son also stepped foot into my honey hole for the first time this season. I had a 1.5 90" eight point around me for 15 minutes. He destroyed two small saplings and rolled a hedge apple around with his forehead  I texed my son to tip the can as he was only 100 yards away. The buck heard it and made its way to him, He said it was to small to. I seen 1 more Doe and a small buck chasing her. My son seen 8 deer from his stand. Its heating up folks ;)

Hey ladies n gents so far its been a bit slow on my end helping a new hunter to the ranks that had gotten permission to hunt the same piece of property I have to hunt.
I have to say I am proud of me because i almost took the wrong path to getting po'd but instead decided to embrass him and welcome him to the sport. He is 21 and fresh out of boot camp so the first thing I had him do was take a couple shots to see what kind of work I have ahead of me. The kid can shoot I have found out so I just pretty much spent 4 hours with him Saturday morning explaining the property and how not to mess up the land with to much of his presence. Turns out last a week ago Sunday he trampled all over the place. grrrr Well anyways i got him all set he had a tree pick out that I had used 4 years ago so I knew he was on the right track lol He asked if he could use my ladder stand on yesterdays mornings hunt which of course I said yes.
Well I guess I am one hell of a coach at around 8am I get a text he shot a doe but thought he had shot it high. He said he was going to get some coffee and wait a bit
which impressed me all the well. Unfortunatly he could not find her and it was determined with the help of his experienced grandfather that he had hit the shoulder blade plate. He explained to me that he indeed shot a little fast instead of taking his time and I said been there done that so he will be ok.
Oh you know that tree of his and mine I talked about earlier well that same morning
he got on cam a beautiful big 10 pointer working a scrape at 07:00 in front of the game cam he has setup. That tree is about 100 yards from the ladder so I am going to wack him later this afternoon. He has to shoot a doe before he can shoot a buck here in Wisconsin and I already have my buck sticker. See sometimes other hunters can help you as he did with the camera lol Chat you all soon. I will be mostly only posting in this team thread as I dont feel up to posting anymore out in the forums.
I also posted this on my HNI team.

Came back from my property in WI (the one w/ the farmer and dogs) saw a roral of zero deer in two days. This in a place that used to be crawling with them! Well I have wed-sun then my hunting time will be severly limited to non-existent!

Hi guys, not been on in a few days, just checkin in. That was nice of you Tony helping the newby ;) Well I decided that this morning was going to be good to try the new setup. wind was good except one time :( guess it swireled a little. Not long after day light I kept hearing a nois exactly where I thought he would come from. Minutes later it blew at me twice  Checking my wind showed it was perfect but I guess it swirled  I cant say it was him for sure and I hope it was not. About 10:00 I decided to do some light rattling and grunting, seconds later I hear one run through some very thick brush But i couldnt see it. Two minutes passed and I finally got a glimpse of a buck leaving but he looked small. There is one of the biggest tracks left from the buck im hunting in the muddy clearing where the scrapes are. After I climbed down I noticed some more fresh rubs as big as my arms since hanging the stand ;) I have to go in to work for a day of overtime for training and then ill be back off till the 15 th. carry on and good luck!!

Well the 27th just plain sucked! I will be right back at it today but I can tell you this year and still working 3rd shift is making hunting a grind. No excuses just whipped a little bit thats all.
I just watched Todd Graff video and it brought back memories so this got the old burner
going for sure. Remember keep your heads up no matter what it could be worse.
Crick you will get a wack at him just dont let my picture texts throw you off lol

Sounds like your getting close Crick. Good luck with him.

Sorry to hear yesterday sucked peak, I've had a few of those this year. But I am having a pretty rough year outside of hunting too.
