Congrats again Cole! He looks even bigger than in the text you sent me.

Here's a couple of pics of my Illinois buck. I will probably make a thread about it tomorrow but I'm too tired to do it right now. We just got back to South Carolina...its a 900 mile drive and we did it all today. He's 11 points and we guessed he weighed about 230. Just for reference I'm 6'5" and I weigh around 215. We very roughly scored him in the hotel room that night. Looks like he'll be around 118". I will get the numbers for sure tomorrow so I can get him entered.

Nice buck Dave! He's got a big ol' body on him!

I scored my buck this afternoon, and he scored 150" even. And that makes me part of the 200 point club for this year  I just got back from dropping it off at my friends house, who is doing the taxidermy work for me. Can't wait to get it back!

Good luck to everybody still on the hunt for bucks, I hope everyone shoots a biggun!

I had a flippin STUD at 25 yards this morning. He was bird-dogging a doe with a couple of fawns. Each doe in a sigle file line entered my opening, walked the same path and paused to check the area, while standing 7 yards out and broadside...
So what does the buck do? He stops at the edge, standing solid in the thick, nasty brush... then he watches the does walk through, while he scans the area. All this time my heart is POUNDING!!... he was 9 or 10 points, I think (the brush was very thick), with width, height, heavy mass and a kicker or 2!... and after pondering his next move (while I wait for another step before coming to full draw), he decides to hang a left and cross the proprety line and head for his bedding area  Man that sucked!!!!
But I was very relieved to see something resembling rutting behavior.... It's what I expected to see the last week of Oct.- first few days of Nov. ....better late than never, though. I'll be back out tomorrow eveing, then all day Sat and Sun, with a cool front moving in Sat night (THANK GOD!!)
Good luck out there, everyone. Whack 'em & stack 'em!!

Im with you it was 69 degrees by 9:00am yesterday morning...The heat sucks!!!!!
I went out doe hunting yesterday morning and at 8:45am they started with the end loader , chain saw and woodchipper cutting down some 30 year old pine trees not 100 yards from me so I knew between the timber cutting and the heat my hunt was OVER by 9:00am, and to add insult to injury didnt even see a doe.... We did see a big ole buck bird doggin a doe at 11:30am in an open field when we were leaving, so that was an incouraging sign.Gonna be happy to get out this weekend with the cooler temps and try for a doe.:)

I was out doe hunting yesterday as well, and had similar troubles. I was sitting in my stand when I heard a tractor coming, no big deal i say to myself. Then he hooks chains to a huge oak tree that had fallen in the creek, then another truck comes out. After he bangs around and drags chains across his truck bed, he fires up a chainsaw and starts cutting up the tree (this is about 150 yards from me). If that wasn't bad enough, 2 guys came walking down the draw with shotguns. I'm sure they were shooting pheasants and quail and who knows what else (pheasant season opens tomorrow). So needless to say I didn't see anything, but I did get a ride back to my truck from the chainsaw wielding guy lol :D

Hey guys. First off let me say congrats to you all on a great season thus far. You guys are tearing it up. Next let me say that your team name and logo are awesome. Which brings me to my point.

Can one of you please send me a larger version of your team logo? I'd like to get a couple of t-shirts made up with it, for personal use, not for sale or commercial purposes at all.

Thanks all, and good luck the rest of the season.

I got deer #11 down day before yesterday.
Was a little bit of a rainy morning .and shot her at 10 yards and she piled up 30 yards from my tree, I could see her white belly facing me in the tree... but I didnt get it on film because of the on and off rain I had to keep the camera undercover out of the rain
( I just film for fun and the footage is only for us we dont sell it or film for any show or company ... And We Like It That Way)
No Picture....She was a SMALLLLLL doe ... but she is gonna make some of the Worlds Most Tender Jerky.
She is cut up and marinading in the fridge right now and gonna dry the jerky today... Yummy ;)

Saturday was the last day, i had a 7 point under my stand about 15 yards. he was 70 - 80 inches. not what i was after. 2nd archery season is the day after Christmas. rifle season starts soon and i will be caring that boom stick with my kids, i hope i can hold off pulling the trigger. Only the kids have first crack at all deer first.

Congrats yet again, LF!! You are having an absolutely amazing season!
I'm still out there guys... in fact, I don't think I've ever hunted this hard on all my life! LOL.. I haven't hit the panic button just yet, but the slugs start flying here in OH in less than 2 weeks... YIKES!
This has been the craziest season I've ever experienced. I just started seeing real rut activity 2 days ago... and I wont be able to get back out until Thurs or Fri...
I've put off whackin does all season, I usually save them for the sake of attracting more bucks into the area, but I'm gonna hammer the next brown critter that walks in front of me... just to remind myself why I'm out there :tu:
