I'll be at it all day tomorrow, the big bucks have to be hiding some where and I will find one eventually!
Thick cover away from other hunters is a start. That is where I will be on my last day of vacation tomorrow morning.
I have good news and not so good news. Good news buck down bad news he's a small six. Not quite sure how to score him but I imagine he'll score under 50 so ill just get the minimum score of 50 for him. I'm still after my first 100 inch deer this year but I believe the first buck is the one you need to count. I got him in NJ where I'm allowed multiple bucks so when this guy came along I just couldn't pass him up. Hope you guys are alright with my decision. I'll go ahead and score him later this week anyway just to learn how to do it and ill post him up on the scorecard soon after.
dont feb worry, plenty of season left, keep your head up. And striker by the picture it looks like it might score over 50 points but regardless congrats on the buck!
Well guys my vacation ended today. I gave it all I had for two weeks. I must have seen 50-60 deer, had 30 or so within range, passed 8-10 2.5 year old bucks up to 100 inches, and had three mature bucks within 40 yards. However, no buck down, yet. I still have 6 weeks left in the season and even though my job in finding a good buck will decrease now that the rut is slowing down, I will still be hunting hard. Keep at it guys! We are closing in on the top three right now.
I hope they chase all the way to Jackson, cuz I'm not seeing a thing. Not sure what's goin on here. Nice job on the buck Striker!
Good new guys. Just stuck a doe. I thought the shot was farther than it was and it was at a steep angle. Hit a little high, looked like a shoulder shot but by how much penetration I got looks like it blew through. Thought I heard her crash but I never want to push a deer and loose it that way, I'm going back in a couple hours so they coyotes don't get it over night
Thanks Feb. Shadow that stinks your vacation is over but seems like you've had some good action anyway. Even tho my entries into this contest are done I still need to get a 100 inch buck on the ground for your contest so after a little break ill be back at it. I'm able to hunt until the end of January so that gives me some time yet to get it done. Good luck Ill still be checking in on a regular basis waiting for the next buck to go down.
Striker, best of luck to you in your quest. I have until the first week of January to get an arrow into a buck. Gonna be tough but I'm up for the challenge.
