Only one deer, a small 4 point buck tonight. Felt like a good night to kill a nice one. Oh well, will be back at it next Thursday.
Well now I'm pissed. I heard some walking in the thick stuff to my right, grabbed my bow and got ready. It went back and fourth for about a minute when it came through it was a big fat fluffy coyote at 40 yards. Just couldn't get a shot off. Tried to make a kiss noise at it to get its attention and nothing. That hurts more than missing a deer

Saw all three of these bucks this weekend. The first pic is a big 8 that I had at 35 yards and passed. He was a very tough one to pass! The second one is a big 10 that I had at about 80 yards and couldn't get off a doe he was following. The third and fourth pictures are a buck I call "Captain Hook". Had him at 250 yards in the middle of a bean field and he wanted nothing to do with the grunt call. Not much rut activity here in WI yet. I'm thinking next weekend will be pretty exciting!
Oh man that musta been a real hard one to pass up! But I don't blame you with those other bucks running around.
