Saw a little button buck or spike harassing does in the woods behind my house. He was dogging them around over and over. Another week and the bigger bucks will start getting on their feet.
set up in a spot I havent hunted in a couple years. needed a north wind and got it. bumped a single big body deer on way in not 50 yards from my tree. scrapes and rubs all around....if no action tonight bc of 80 degree weather will wait 7 to 10 more days to hunt it again once temps drop and bucks are moving. it has the sign that says "hunt me".
My computer sucks I cant get it to upload my photos, so i guess I'll use the wives to upload pics from now on.

You know it Brett! The season is young, and the best is yet to come. I was actually gonna take this weekend off of hunting, but my old man is dragging me out again. Yes, he's hardcore This cold front coming in can make things real interesting, and now I'm pretty pumped. I have the perfect spot for a decoy, and I'm rattling, and grunting all day. Maybe I can entice the local honcho to come and protect his turf. BRING IT!!
Just found this pic, this is where I'm setting up. It's an inside corner on the edge of a funnel, connecting two big woodlots. This buck is looking exactly where the decoy will be, and I'm sitting about 20 yards to the right. I WILL be killing something here

I will be hunting tomorrow afternoon then won't be able to hunt again until Next Thursday when my vacation begins. The temps are supposed to drop 25 degress over the next 10 days. HERE we go!
I got this 10 pointer on video over a scrape. He would probably get an arrow. Several decent bucks using this scrape. This is from several weeks ago and it was pretty much all night activity, but I put a dripper over it and cant wait to check it again to see if it started getting any day time activity.

My friend asked me to come up and hunt on a great place in a big buck county here in Virginia on November 3rd. All day hunt during the peak of the rut on the muzzleloader opener. I will have my bow in hand hoping the bucks will not only be on the move from the rut but from the gun pressure. I also picked up a hunt or two with a friend of mine who has permission to hunt 20 acres in a pretty good spot. Will spend a day or two over there on my vacation. These thing usually don't happen to me so I am pumped. All those days surround by my sun-up to sundown hunts on the public land should make it a memorable vacation. I am hoping to get two bucks on the ground.
No deer down yet here but I had good action tonight, quite a few deer almost had a shot at a fat doe but no dice only needed to come ten more yards but things are looking up. Ill be out tomorrow evening again and im feelin pretty good about it. Good luck guys lets get it done.
Brett, sounds like your vacation is gonna be a blast. Nothing like jumping around from spot to spot, with new scenery and a different herd of deer. Jeezy, cool video and an awesome 10 pt!
