SSSSOOOOO...... does this count for the buck contest???

we went to this really cool wild life petting zoo up near Minoaqua, Wis. they had a ton of animals to pet with the and deer walking throughout the park. it was a really cool experience with the kids. funny thing is, my son asked right in front of the zoo keeper, "when are you going to shoot your big deer?" as he was feeding this bruin.

I brought mine in, after you see the deer in the area I tend to take them out to reduce scent from me going back and fourth between the area

Ya, I try not to go check them very often. Like it has been a couple weeks since checking them last and I do not plan to check them again before the season. However, I leave them up because I will swap out the memory cards when I hunt the nearby stand since I am already in there and it will not be doing any extra harm.

OH YEAH BABY! its getting nice and chilly around here.... that only means one thing..... i cant wait to get out there. I wasn't able to get out the last couple days since my oldest son came down with pneumonia, but hoping this weekend, if not next.... there's just something about being outside in Gods nature while hunting with close friends and family that anti-hunters just don't get. i myself, as all of you absolutely love it and continue to pray that we never loose this God given right. have a great weekend guys!

what new arrows are you using... i switched to easton fmj's last year and i really like them so far. i was shooting goldtip pro hunters at around 311fps, but the fmjs at 273 really hit the target with authority. i also get around 20 extra ft.#'[s of energy and it hangs on to that energy out to a further yardage. it was a hard switch though. i am kinda a speed freak, though i tell myself im not... deep down at heart, i just like speed!!!!

Well, I decided to pass on the Wis opener. It's gonna be in the mid 80's, and I got work to do. Next week it's supposed to drop into the low 60's, and I could possibly make a 3 day weekend.
Good luck to you guys heading out!

Thanks Tony, it felt good to get back in the swing of things. I saw 3 doe as I entered to set up and they bounded off. I set up within 10 yards of an oak tree that was raining acorns. About 30 minutes later I saw those doe coming right back in to feed. However, they walked at a fast clip right past the acorn tree and I had to stop and shoot quick. Drilled her for a double lung and 30 yards later she was dead.
