Ok I guess Lucky 7's it is! We need as much good luck as we can get. Just made it home from Missouri. All plots planted, ground blinds put up and brushed in, tree stands up and shooting lanes cleared. Now we just wait for the big boys to move in!
It sounds like you had a busy weekend OH. The name sounds good to me. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sure did and it appears as if I managed to find the poison ivy as well. I swear just have to be in the same zip code as the stuff to get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here. The first hint of it showing on me I go get a steroid shot. I can’t deal with it at work house pain in the ass.
It’s crazy because I take pills, wear sleeves and put a cream on me before I go and work the trails and mow.. still get it. I told my wife when we move out there permanently I’m going to get a cab tractor so I have a better chance of staying clear of it when mowing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have not but I’m always looking for new items to help with it. I’m definitely going to look into it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hope he’s staying hydrated! It’s a balmy 93 here in southern Ohio today ha I couldn’t imagine but I too would be in the woods if I could! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Anyone else really behind this season. I haven’t even shot my bow yet and haven’t checked and set any stands yet. It’s crazy how busy life gets. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It’s very easy for life to get in the way but yes I feel the same way even though all I have to do is get some more shots in with my bow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've been doing a bunch of shooting but haven't scouted much and only have one camera out. I've tried to prioritize my time with shooting because I wanted to really get comfortable with my form and develop some consistency. I may go put out a camera tomorrow as the opener here in MN is next Saturday, which can't come soon enough. However, my role at work will pick up because of the two I supervise one is resiging and the other cutting back hours which then leaves me with picking up a bunch of work until we get someone hired...which in and of itself is a ridiculous process. My time might be limited but, good Lord willing, I'll loose an arrow or two.
Just got home from 3 days in Kentucky chasing deer on public. It was in the 90's and super humid every day, so deer movement has been slow. I saw a bunch on Sunday night (10 in total) including a couple of bucks. No shooters and nothing close. Monday night I saw 4, no bucks, and again, nothing close. Last night I switched spots and sat in the pouring ass rain and saw 4 more, but again, no shooters. I did have a doe in bow range but it was raining, 85 degrees, 1 mile from the truck, and on the edge of the thickest cutover in state. I wasn't about that life so she got the pass. I'm heading back down tomorrow for 4 more sits to see if I can make something happen in the cooler weather. It's tough early season without good intel on a buck's hangout. With most of the deer still in velvet it's hard to nail down where a buck may be living without seeing him, and dodging other hunters while you're at it. Oh, and I got a nasty case of poison ivy myself. Fortunately, I have some Prednisone stashed at home so I just took that. I may not sleep well for a few days, but it usually knocks it right out. A $20 teledoc visit on my phone that takes about 2 minutes is the way to go if you need meds. Quick and easy!
Well hopefully our "Lucky" theme comes into play and you can lay the smackdown on a buck. Can't beat that teledoc, especially in a situation like you've encountered!
