Sorry for the late check-in! Jensen here. I'm looking forward to the season here in SE MN. I don't have any consisten bucks showing up but there are two good 8's. I got drawn for an urban hunt which I'm excited for as it's an area that has only been opened up for the past two years and there are four of us in the area. Per a couple guys who hunted it last year, it's a solid rut spot with some really respectable deer.
Forgot to introduce myself...for the past 34 years I've gone by Josh, which only makes sense since it's my name. I work in the mental health field where I focus on supervising a crisis team, a lot of suicide prevention work and I facilitate a bunch of different trainings for folks in the community and other mental health agencies. I've been married since '14 and have two kiddos, 5 and 3. My daughter has been rocking gymnastics the past few years and will be busy with that this fall as will my son- he has too much energy and that's the only thing we can get him into until the next year or so. We enjoy camping, spending time with family. During the fall my wife would probably tell you that I spend too much time in the woods and I'd argue that it's about the only thing I do for myself. Really looking forward to getting to know this group!
What are we thinking for a team name? I saw two - Shaft Slingers and Dead on. Shaft Slingers is catchy. Also, I may have missed it, but do we have a captain? A lot of us have that "if I get lucky," quote going on, so perhaps a team name of Get Lucky?
I posted this in the Smacktalk thread, but I'm going to post it in every team thread so no one misses it: I want to take a minute and clarify a rule in the contest and emphasize the importance of getting your required two different photos with the buck, the bow and you in the pics for entry on the Official Scorecard. The rules read: Scoring system will be as follows: Each participant is allowed to enter ONE antlered deer as their “Buck Score”. This must be the FIRST antlered deer that you harvest during the season. We had an instance last season where someone in the contest killed a buck but failed to get pictures of the buck. This not only resulted in the buck not being counted towards the team total (of course), but also prevented him from entering another buck killed later. ONLY the first buck you kill can be entered, so make sure you don't make the mistake of not getting TWO good pics that have you, the bow and the buck in them.
Ok I have everyone checked in. Glad we all made it and don't have to worry about getting an alternate. No captain as of yet. I'll try to think of a couple name suggestions as well over the weekend. Shaft Slingers Dead On Get Lucky Lucky 7's (a play on being team #7) 7th Heaven

Sucky But Lucky haha that’s great! I’m fine with taking the nomination for captain if that’s what the group would like! Made it to the property in MO. Left at 4am and got here about 2.
