Fletch... If you really don't want to, I will be team captain and as long as everyone else is cool with it. I would like to keep the name though. You ok with that? Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
This is the only shooter we have on our lease. I know it's not a great pic but we've seen him past two years and he has some good mass. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Beautiful 54 degree morning today. Got my blood pumping. Come on Oct! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Nice and cool here too, feels great. So I had a quick question, I’m getting ready to run out and get stocked up on arrows and broadheads for the year I have used rage broadheads for the past 4-5 years or so and I have never had any issues with them but it seems like more and more here recently I’m starting to hear so much negativity about the Brodhead not opening and that sort of thing and they are quite expensive as well. what do you guys use and what are your thoughts and opinions. I was thinking about trying it out The muzzy trocar hybrid
I use the Grim Reaper razor cut 3 blade expandable I think it's a 2" cut. Never had and issues with it. However I think I'm going to buy a pack of the Rage hypodermic Just to try something different.
That’s what I’ve used for a coupe years now and never once had an issue that some say they’ve had. All my kills have been complete pass throughs except one
I use NAP Killzone 100 gr (Trophy Tip) on Easton FMJ 340s. I'm around 435 grains per arrow. Pulling 70 lbs on my bow. Feel like I have a good combination. I was even fortunate enough to do this with my set up last Sept. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’m going to try. The project I’m on at work right now has us working 10pm to 6am, but I’m hoping we can cut out early in the morning so I can have some time to get in the woods. The only other chance I’m going to have is Sunday morning..
I'm not trying to push it off on anyone, but would love for you to take it if that's something you would enjoy doing. It seems like you would do a great job for us.
Two acre food plot is done and got an inch of rain on it last night. It started to rain as I was pulling out of the field last evening. I could not have done it this year without my father-in-law. I'm still recovering from the wrist surgeries and limited to no more than 4 or 5 pounds of lifting. He sprayed roundup a couple of weeks ago after mowing it off. A couple evenings ago, we burned it off and the next day we tilled it, seeded it, and cultipacked it. I put in Buck Forage Oats, purple top turnips, and tillage radishes. I also stuck out two cameras for the first time this year.
Not to open a can of worms, but I can assure you that "fail-to-open" should be of minimal concern as far as mech broadhead consideration. I published a research study that compared deer recovery rates with hunters who used fixed or mechs, and found that mechs outperformed fixed blades. Use a broadhead (fixed or mech) with which you are confident. And do not worry about reliability or penetration concerns oft expressed with mechs if you decide to go that way... -fsh
Nice job Fletch! I put in several plots this past week. I favor radish, dwarf essex rape, red clover, an annual clover and either wheat or rye. I will sometimes add purple top turnips on my farm, but that's for winter stews as deer all but ignore the turnips in my area. -fsh
