Hey Andy, I've heard about the great work you do tracking. Actually think you helped a buddy of mine few years back. Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Keith - I don't track on the Eastern Shore, so you might be confusing me with Andy Bensing, who is the godfather of tracking. I know Andy B well and he has the respect of many hunters. But hi back to a fellow MD'r. -fsh
Yes you are correct. Sorry for the confusion. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just got back home from vacation. I'm going to be busy in the next few weeks get everything ready. I'm ready to get some stands up.
Hey guys, Looks like we have three left to check in. I'm going to send each a PM checking if they plan on signing in. We also need to come up with a team name so please feel free to send out your thoughts. We also need to come up with a team captain, so any volunteers?
Hey guys, sorry to be late to the party. I had not seen that teams were chosen yet. Thanks for the PM Hammer! I live and hunt in southern Iowa. This will be my 37th archery season I believe. I own one farm of about 80 acres and have access to another 580 of private. I just sold my other farm this spring and have never killed a deer on the 80 in 7 years of owning it. There are good deer there, but I just have never taken the time to learn that piece and hunt there much. I look forward to getting to know the farm and deer patterns there this season. Hunting celebrities are taking over our area and lots of land is getting locked down. Fortunately for me, 1300 acres of that ground is adjacent to my 80 so I have high hopes of having some great hunting for years to come. I'm not sure how many times I have been in this contest, but its been quite a few. I look forward to catching up with some "old friends" on this team and will enjoy making acquaintances with the rest. It looks like a solid team and will be a lot of fun if everyone spends a little time sharing their season as we go. Best of luck to all of you and stay safe. On a side note, I fell in June and shattered both wrists requiring surgeries. So, I will be hunting with a crossbow this season in the contest. It's the only way I will be able to enjoy the woods and I look forward to the new experience and am thankful that Iowa will allow it.
Was starting to wonder about you. This will be my second season with a xbow. Shoulder seems to be getting progressively worse. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Damn Fletch sorry to hear about your wrists. That sounds horrible. Hope you're are healing up quickly. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey everyone. John checking in here. Been busy at work and haven’t been on in a while. Got a early season velvet hunt coming up this weekend so hopefully I can start the season off with a bang or a bow.. ha!
Yeah I’m not good at making up names.. lucky 7’s is good. Or how bout we go with something “original” THE BOW HUNTERS As far as capt goes, I usually say the person who has been a member the longest or who will be able to be online on a regular basis.. just my thoughts. I look forward to a great season with everybody!
Name of team and captain doesn't matter to me. I like the idea of the longest standing member be captain.
If we go by most seniority, Fletch would be team captain. If he is cool with being team captain then I'll nominate him and I have a team name to fit accordingly. Fletched Warriors.....get it...yea I know.... I laughed. Fletch - With team captain there's not a whole lot of undertaking involved. I think you have to notify Fitz of our team name and remind everyone to post two pictures.
I would certainly do it, but would also be glad to let anyone else that has interest in doing so. Atlas would also be a "very senior" member. Not sure who was first. I think we both originated on the old forum community many deer ago. We need to see if anyone is friends with him on Facebook and send him a message. Also, team name makes no difference to me. Whatever the majority wants is good.
