Good job Hammer, nice buck. What part of Maryland? I passed a 110-115 8 point buck this evening, waiting to see if one of the bigger fellas cruise by. You boys are putting up some points............guess I better get it in gear and help out the team. Dave
I'm hunting in queen Anne, Caroline, and Dorchester counties. This buck was a lease in Queen Anne. I really should have let him walk but I watched him from 9am until I shot him at 4pm. He was tending a doe. He even fought a smaller 7 pt and broke the 7pt's rack. It was a pretty epic hunt. He came into the grunt call and was trying to circle downwind. Shot him at 13 yds and he ran about 50 before piling up. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I finally remembered to get a couple photos with a doe. I will get her entered tomorrow. That fills me for the contest. Keep putting them down guys!
I got a doe entered in the contest. I am tapped out at 200 7/8 points total for the year. I have killed one buck and 4 does at this point and hope to shoot a few more. Both of my son's want deer meat and so does my father-in-law as he has been unable to hunt due to chemo treatments making him too weak.
Gun season has officially started here in Alabama. I will spend a lot of time with my boys gun hunting that should be fun. I will also be closing on the new piece of property the first week of December excited about that might be able to get out and hunt it before the end of season. Good luck guys.
Congrats on the new property. There is nothing like hunting on your own land. Happy Thanksgiving to all and have a safe and fun holidays!
Happy thanksgiving everyone. Our gun season starts Monday so I’ll probably take the boom stick out. Our second archery season opens back up after Christmas so I’ll get a doe with a bow then Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'll whack a doe before the end of the season with the bow. Still have 1 tag left. Had to shoot 1 with the gun so I could kill a 2nd buck with the rifle or muzzleloader. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Our gun season starts Saturday, but I'll still be bowhunting on my farm and in bowhunting-only areas. (I've tracked a few wounded-deer recently with my girls, but I've had fewer calls this year than as in the past, as other folks are taking up the calling). I've seen a few decent bucks this rut, but the stars haven't lined up (yet!!). -fsh
Same here as fsh, will be bowhunting the entire gun season. Hopeful I run into one of my shooters tomm. morning. Dave

I shot another doe last evening with the crossbow. She had a mid 150's to low 160's 10 pointer with his nose on her tail when I shot her. I guess I kind of messed up his night. lol. He is a great looking buck, but looked to be only 3.5 or 4.5 years old with lots of potential. I hope he can make it through to next season and I can see him again. I also had a 120's 8 point come through with a young doe. They seem to be still going strong with the rut. It has been a strange year for rut activity for me. It seemed to drag on for a very long time, but I never really saw that few days of insanity that I normally am used to. Shotgun season opens on Saturday and I have not decided if I will get a tag and sit or not. The weather looks terrible and we have lots of snow and mud underneath. I may be lazy and work on getting a few things done at work and home instead.
Haven't posted in a while been busy with work. We are about two weeks out from the rut. I watched a 115" 9pt yesterday work a scrape and two other bucks cruze the food plot I was hunting over.
