Anyone out there? IL season starts on Wednesday, I probably won't hunt until Saturday.

Success guys, 50 points for our team if the photos are allowed. I shot a nice mature doe at 8 am this morning(Saturday) but screwed up on the photos sort of. I returned home to get my game cart, hook on the hitch hauler and while doing some rearranging in the cab, took out my bow and forgot to bring it back in the field with me for photos. Due to rising temps I just went ahead and took photos at home with the doe on the hitch hauler tied up with bow of course. Had to hurry to the processor! Anyways, terrible game pics but worth 50 pts. I hope. If not I'll take pics of another doe if and when I shoot one.

Well it's a start, congrats Cougar. I had a doe with 2 fawns come in to my food plot. could've shot one of the youngsters but I wanted Momma! Well she never gave me a shot, but never knew I was there. She'll be back and maybe next time I'll get the side view!

I saw 9 deer behind my house Saturday evening, including a magnum 8pt. He was 140-145....tall tines and crazy mass. I had him at 75 yards and he wouldn't get any closer. I'm giving him a break for a few days and will try again at him this weekend. Congrats on the doe Cougar.

Took a button buck Sun Morning. I wasn't going to, but in the previous days I was sooooo nervous and shaky whenever I had deer close by with the possibility of a shot I wouldn't even been able to draw my bow. I had to get this monkey off my back and kill one. That done I'm on to bigger and better things (damn adrenaline rushes)

Congrats Andy! Well guys I thought I had some bad news but along with some checking on my bow and anti-inflammatory meds from the doctor I am back up and shooting! Best my right arm has felt in weeks though the shoulder prognosis is up in the air. But I can shoot, all I care about. I am off for a week so I am gonna do some hunting and things are picking up around here. Bucks are still traveling together in my area..............gonna be fun next week!

Not really. A button buck gets an antlerless tag, ergo 50 points. The Fergie clause applies to a buck tag used on a buck with less than 50" of antler.

    Passed on a tiny 8-point last night. He would've had trouble making 60". Seeing as he's a 1 1/2 yo,he'll be a stud in 3 more years!

Will be out tommorow in NW IL the weather is supposed to turn cold and nasty and I expect a lot of deer movement. I hope to check in with good news next week!
Hunt safe guys! It's crunch time.
