I went out for 3 hours today and got skunked... I did jump about 15 bedded deer and then had these 3 cross the road on my way out.
we got swamped with about 4 inches of rain this weekend, so I wasn't able to make it out! hopefully I can this week
I got out for about 3 hours and got caught in the rain about 3 miles away from truck and got soaked. No sheds but found 1 dead head.
Made it out this afternoon for a few hours. Found the matching side to one I found earlier! Spent most of the time looking for this guys sheds! He's either deAd or way to smart for me I can't find his bedding area anywhere! Prolly right inside the edge of the wood line lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spent 3 hours searching this morning and found 1 more. Its really starting to green up here and is getting harder. I have one more place I want to check than I might be done.
Still finding them boys , went out inbetween rain storms today and found 2 more. The first one I spotted from about 75 yards across a creek, I zoomed in as far as the camera could and you can just see it. I just broke my record for biggest shed with that one, it measured right at 55".
sad to say, but i think im done for the season..... came up very short in my expectations and finds. I still enjoyed every minute of it and learned where some of the big bucks beds are, to me that's what it's all about! I still might go out a few times, but with the ticks popping up all over it's not looking to good! I'll stay up to date in the thread with you guys! Good luck!
It's been SO wet here lately...I just don't have the energy to go slosh around in the muck. I would like to get out at least one more time, but storms are supposed to hit us again all week.
I am taking off work on Tuesday and walking all day, but its supposed to rain here also. This might be my last shed hunting trip for the year. Josh hang in there and give it another try. The rain can help, it makes the sheds pop out and it keeps the leaves down.
Walked for 7 hours today and found 0. That's the worst. I did walk up on a gobbler at 20 yards, that was cool to see. I just wish I had my bow with me.
