Well I'm hoping to go start scouting saturday. I don't think they have started dropping yet but I want to start scouting for next season. Suppose to rain Saturday so I dunno.

This snow sucks!!!!! Anyhow, i got out yesterday for a hour or so not expecting to find anything and boy was i wrong!! I hit one of my better spots and i found a beautiful perfect matching pair! Medium size basket 6. Laying about 3' away from each other. I think that may b it for me for awhile..... we r supposed to get hammered on sunday with 3' of snow. F#@*!!!!!!!!! Looks like pretty much everyone has some sort of snow cover. Not good. Well anyway im going to try to hit my best spot tomorrow, im reluctant cause i dont want to push the deer out of this area but there are some monsters in this spot but not sure they dropped yet and i need to get them before someone else does!!

Nice finds! Where do you look for sheds...bedding areas, fence rows???

We got 4-5" of snow and a thick layer of ice last night. No shed hunting (or work) for me...

Yea josh that pair i found in a bed. The ground was bare... right down to the leaves so it was pretty easy to find. I would say that half of my sheds are found in beds but the beds are hard to find when there is no snow. So the snow can have a advantage.

I saw a buck last night that I had been waiting for him to drop, of course he dropped one side sometime yesterday, in the 1' powder snow....might take a walk on Saturday to the bedding areas before we get slammed with snow.

AI you are setting the bar VERY high for us!!! lol!! awesome finds man!

Thanks SS. Im sure you guys will be catching up soon. Im at a abrupt hault .. i tried going to one of my favorite spots today and there was over 12" of snow from monday and tuesday nite. Not feeling it i gave up after about a hour. This snow is the worst thing possible for shedding im my area cause when there is that much snow on the ground the deer tend to stay very close to the houses and feed on the shrubs. That means alot of sheds on peoples lawns. We need a serious melt down quick

went out today for a few hours. crusty top layer of snow then 8-10 inches. found boat load of beds, no sheds. I was using a machete, dragging it through the snow in a grid pattern near small bushes where the bucks would go through, and still nothing. need some melting to happen!! there talking about a big storm mid week....we dodged the 2-3' bullet with a dusting!! all bucks in my area have dropped. I checked trail cam today.

It's finders keepers out there...as long as the property owner doesn't want it.

nice. id go get it euro mounted. so on topic, looks like it will be March before i can get out scouting/shed hunting. work has exploded and i havent had any time to get away. one of the club members said they still have their antlers on though so they should be dropping anytime now.

I got out last week for a 4 hour hike and no luck. Found a lot of beds in the snow, but I think a lot of them are still holding. I have heard from few people around this area that are starting to find a few, so it wont be long.

Made it out yesterday for about 2 hours and i got 2. Im pretty sure its a matching set. Nothing big but a decent basket 8. One was in a bed under some pines and the other was about 100' away laying on top of the snow. We still have about a foot of snow on the ground here but most of it should melt by sunday. I plan on tearing up the woods this weekend! 0220141247.jpg 0220141333.jpg 0220141340.jpg

Still got almost 2 feet of snow on the ground. It's 45 degrees rainy and thick fog tonight, should do a number on the snow!
