Oh man! That's a stud. Hopefully you connect with him this year!

Mostly 3.5 year olds and younger. There is one that I think is a 4.5 year old 10 point that I really hope to see. Usually, I have one that I set my sights on that has me pretty excited. Not the case this year. I may be waiting it out this year until the rut brings in something.

I would be very excited about that buck. I'm with you, once I set my sights on a target, it's all or nothing. Fortunately, it worked out the past several years, but I have eaten a few tags in my life.

Couple smaller bucks across the slough. Seen a doe and fawn in the morning. Probably try and get out a couple times this week if it cools off a little bit!

If it cools off a bit is right! It was 90 degrees yesterday here in Northern IL! Just crazy.

Wow, that's too hot to hunt. Nothing worse than taking a scent free shower and then setting in a stand sweating.

Last day for elk. Our temperatures on the mountain have been mid to high 30s at night and high 50s to low 60s in the day. Hunting pronghorn it was a bit warmer.
Anyway, I can’t wait to hear the stories of all your hunts.

Sorry for being out. Right after my elk hunt I went to the field for a large training exercise for work for 10days. It spanned 3 states. Running on about 3 hrs a sleep a day. Got back Sunday morning and basically have been catching up on sleep. Today hit the gym for the first time in 3 weeks. Felt good. Ready to get back to the grind. Good luck everyone! I can’t wait for November to get back to hunting

My dad and I (HuntinKB51 on team 1) finalized a rut stand this morning. It's in a great spot for rut movement right in where the big boys holds the does, and we will only hunt it starting the last few days of October.... then it's on like Donkey Kong!

    Man, it's still hot, though!
