Just got back. Incredible hunt but ended frustrated. Hit a 5x5 in the shoulder blade and was unable to recover him.

Found the herd and snuck in. Got to 60 yds when they all bedded. Waited for them to get up. They got up and moved off. I have a cow decoy on the front of my bow due to how open this unit is. It is super effective. Had cows look at me and go back to feeding or bed. I got to as close as I could. Saw the bull coming out from behind a tree ranged the bush at 65 so I set pins to 60 which I had intended to be my max range. Shot and missed over his back but he ran and I couldn’t tell if I missed. He ended up being at 50. I saw a dark patch at the vitals and thought he had been hit. I cow called and he stopped and looked at me. Ranged him at 85. I couldn’t get closer and thinking he was hit and about to range thought I need to shoot again. I practice out to 100 regularly but didn’t really want to take the shot but figured I needed to get an arrow in him. Shot and heard a loud thwack. I was praying it was a rib. He ran behind a tree. All the herd was antsy and looking at him. Then heard a groan and a loud crash which caused the whole herd to take off. I made a major mistake here. Thinking crash equaled dead. I walked up kind of lackadaisical and he jumped and ran off. My buddy said my shot range was perfect it was a forward a bit but he also had his front right leg back pushing the shoulder blade back some more. The spot I saw was just mud. We couldn’t find blood and searched for 4 miles and were unable to find him. Felt terrible but the hunt overall was a blast.

I should have snuck up and probably realized he was still alive and arrowed him again.

The hunt isn't always about killing something. Time spent with others doing what we love is the best there is!

    Sorry it happened though.

I messaged LC that all members are checked in and the captain.

Next up, Suncrest, can you just edit your first post and add Antler Alliance after team 7?

Anyone technology savvy and can make us an avatar? I'm not savvy by any means whatsoever but I'll see what I can come up with until someone better suited can make us a great one.

I finally set some cameras yesterday, I’ve been slacking a little bit this year. Got a pretty good one already.

Now that we are in second place, we need one of you guys to shoot a big old hog of a buck:deer:.
Honestly any deer will do. Since I can only max out at a 100 points this year.
