Congrats guys! Doing some adjustments on my time off now. We are in a heat wave here with afternoons in the 70's so switching some days from this week to next week.
We're experiencing the same thing here. While it's the beginning of November, I'm out for blood at this point. I'll have all day Friday prior to the firearm season opening on Saturday. I'll have this Sunday and then won't be able to get out again until the following Sunday. My partner is off on vacation saying Tuesday of next week so I'll be the only guy to finance vehicles at my shop... Hopefully the 20° tell drop between Thursday and Friday will make the deer move a ton because that's going to be my hail Mary before the orange army hits on Saturday. Had 2 bucks at 75 yards coming right where I needed them too, was absolutely perfect doe walks out of the woods 2 1/2 year old sees her. Both bucks just take off running God hates me
Headed out tonight to stay at my farm until 11/13. Hoping to be able to hunt full days this weekend through next week most days and that I’ll be able to contribute another 50 points for the team. Good luck to those of you in the woods, the next two weeks are the best times of the year!
Hey @Ryan Cornelius - Did you get a chance to score yours? Once we get that entered we’re back in the top 5.
I got another 50 points for the scoreboard tonight guys! I will get him cleaned up and some good quality pics tomorrow to enter on the scorecard. Good luck to those of you still out there, there is still lots of good hunting ahead of us!
I'm still grinding, at this point I'm gonna take the first shot I get sat all day yesterday with 1 fawn seen all day. Don't know if they are locked down already or if the trespasser's have been out harassing the deer.
Nov 10 634 am. 134 lbs dressed. I may have messed up up shooting her. She came in and hung around for like 10 mins before I couldnt take it any more and shot her. Figured no buck folowing at that point. Shot her. She bounded 10 yards and stood there for like 5 mins then very slowly walked off. I lost sight of her in the binos at about 40 yards. 5 mins later scanning the area with the binos I see an absolute giant standing there looking my way. Biggeat deer I have ever seen, or have ever had on camera. And I have had some big ones on camera. No good shot, too far too much stuff in the way. He walked off the way she went and her companions ran at the shot. I grunted and bleated but only got a breif cursary look from him. Had I let her pass I prob would have
I never second guess a harvest. Sure that buck might have made a different decision but you'll never know. Enjoy the venison in the freezer and move on. Kill that buck another day! Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
I thought, for a second, that the forums went quiet. I stopped receiving notifications. It's good to see it's just my phone not sending me anything. I'm finally going to be able to hunt again for the first time since Friday the 4th. What a time for my partner to take a vacation... Hopefully the lack of pressure for 8 days will help the situation for tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is the start of the shoot-on-sight situation for this season. With three tags still in my pocket, it's time to put some whitetail meat in the freezer. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Congrats. Well gun season opens Tuesday here. I won’t be back out until the first weekend in December with a bow. So hopefully I can snag a doe then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My goodness @Rick James. I thought the one i just killed was a beast body! Absolute stud man congrats. Did you weigh that Bull?
Nice work guys. I’m in the heart of MN gun season but all of my orange army family has pillaged most of our family hunting land. I’m hoping to get out and get a deer with my bow still this season.
