I seems like he gets bigger and bigger every time I see him on camera. I hope I can hold it together if I get an opportunity! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally getting out to western PA this weekend. Hope to be able to whack at least a doe this weekend. Then I leave for Kansas next Friday to hunt walk-in public access again. This will be my 3rd year going down there. Me and my buddy tagged bucks last year. I hope we can have similar success this year. My hunt from last year was on the BHOD episode last week. We have been hunting Kansas the first week or two of November but this year we are hunting October.
Season has been kind of slow for archery, compared to what I'm used to, anyway. But there was that week in Wyoming with the boom stick so I can't complain too much. Yesterday morning I could have shot another small buck about the same size as the one I took in WY but I'll pass on a button buck every time here at home. I also had an alert doe at about 45 yards as well but decided that shot was to risky. Time to go back to the drawing board and give my private chunk a rest before the rut kicks off. Sunday will be a jaunt out to one of the public spots i scouted this spring to check out what they look like now. Hopefully I find did good sign to sit over. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Had 1 of my target bucks at 60 perfectly broadside I practice that shot often just couldn’t pull the trigger didn’t wanna wound him. He will make a mistake eventually. Hope I’m there when he does I’d love to put my hands on him.
It feels like I haven't hunted in forever, but it hasn't even been a week. I'll get back in a stand Thursday evening. Time to start breaking into some public ground and give my kill funnel a couple weeks off prior to the rut. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
We are having an awesome cold from come through. Was 80 yesterday and today was a high of 58. I’m stuck working but hope to get out at least one morning or afternoon if I can free up a little bit of time. 32 degrees Thursday morning. First morning with freezing temperatures this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A buddy and I found this fresh rub on Saturday. I was pointing at the other tree that was scraped up from his tines Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got out after work. Only for a couple hours. Had a wind pretty much straight from the north, came in on the south west side of the property and made my way north looking for sign to hunt. Didn’t really find anything that made me say I need to stop and hunt here. Walked up on a bedded doe and got about 30 yards from her and she bolted. She was bedded in a spot where there should be a buck bedded with a wind from the south.
Anyone get out this weekend? I did on Friday night, saw a doe and two fawns. Didn’t get any closer than about 70 yards. My cuddelink showed this buck using a similar pattern of the 140 I shot last year during gun season. I’m going to try to get set up on his travel pattern one night next week.
Was out all weekend, had some does close and small bucks. But with temps in upper 60 I wasn’t ready to process a doe asap. But Saturday night this guy walked by 6 minutes after I left the stand. Hoping he slips up next weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got out Saturday in MD for a morning hunt, saw one doe from the stand then as I was getting changed at my car around 10:30 a small buck ran by me in an open field. Came back home to PA and hunted the evening but didn’t see anything
