It's finally my week for turkey hunting, I'll be heading up to the property Thursday night and plan to spend pretty much the next 3 days getting after them. Went out last weekend with my Dad since it was his weekend, and it was really slow, hardly any gobbling and the only birds I saw were a couple hens ~ 100 yards out through some trees. I'm hoping the cold, rain, and wind are what kept things slow last weekend, and that it changes big time for this weekend! I'll try to keep you guys posted with how the weekend turns out when I can find enough signal up there.

Go get em!! Yeah waiting sucks for sure. It felt like forever waiting for the season to start and the then my season was over 2 hours after light hit haha, definitely still a great time though. My brother almost had a nice chance at a Tom on Saturday afternoon but when it got about 100yds from us a coyote came in the field and scared all the turkey and deer out of sight

Made it out to the blind with my boys and it's a beautiful clear calm morning. We've got a ton with huge spurs that's been visiting this field everyday the last week...I'm hoping he walks by me today.

 

Had a tom that somehow skirted between my dad and I who are only ~ 100 yards apart and didn't give either of us a shot...so close!

Just had two jakes come out to the field by us but I let them walk by...holding out for a nice tom!

 

Well the day ended without any excitement...after the morning I didn't really see or hear any birds. Quite disappointing but I'll be back in the blind early tomorrow morning.

 

What a difference this morning...not a single bird seen, very disappointing. Time to head in and do some work at the cabin, back out in the afternoon.

 

Well it's been a really slow morning so far after a really slow afternoon yesterday. Not much gobbling and what there was stopped a little after 6:30. Still holding out hope something decides to show up!

 

Sorry team that i havent been on here been dealing with some personal issues. I'll get back into the woods on Wednesday.

I have been having trouble locating any birds on the properties I hunt recently. Opening day I had multiple toms at about 100 yards but they just didn't feel the need to come in any closer. I just recently started a new job and it's been impossible to get out as much as I want to but these last 2 weeks are going to be balls to the wall. Good luck fellas!

Killed a bird Saturday boys but it was with a shotgun. I have a week left and will be out with my bow from now on.

How long is everyone's season? I only had one week cuz I don't have any private land I'm allowed to hunt on so I only hunt public land. I'm not sure about other states' seasons and rules
