Thanks...none are from any of the three big ones I saw this year, but that is a good thing (kind of) just another buck I didn't know was around that will be a nice one next season!
Congrats. I made it out again on the weekend and finally found my first fresh shed from this year. So hopefully the other deer will start losing their antlers as well. I now have 3 total for the year incase someone is updating our totals. I will post pics of my last two right away here. Just have to find my camera.
Just measured my matching set and the numbers are as follows: Left MB 18 3/8 G1 4 6/8 G2 9 4/8 G3 9 1/8 G4 5 4/8 H1 4 H2 3 5/8 H3 4 H4 4 Total 63 4/8 Right MB 18 7/8 G1 5 G2 10 G3 8 7/8 G4 5 2/8 H1 4 H2 3 4/8 H3 3 7/8 H4 3 7/8 Total 63 2/8 Left and Right combine for a total of 126 6/8...being conservative and giving the deer a 14" inside spread that would make him 140 6/8...should be a nice one next year!
went out for about 3 hrs today. Gloomy day.... Only thing I found (out) was that deer don't shed antlers in east central, Minnesota
Well I went out this past weekend and the last hour before I had to leave I finally found some. I will post the pics a bit later. T
Here are some pics from when I went out the last time. It was awesome to get my dog out there. Over the last two years she has had surgery on both acl's. One year after the other. She is finally walking around again and is doing great. She was soo excited to get out and this one trip made it all worth while. She might make a good shed dog one day, but on this trip she kept on taking my shed out of my hand, walking with it for a couple minutes than dropping it and leaving it. But as soon as I picked it up again she came running back to take it from me and carry it for a little bit. We also saw a woodpecker which was neat.
Found a couple today, one is pretty real nice. Posting pics in a bit Turns out, they do shed in MN, who knew :D
Well fellas...I just went out this weekend and found over twenty sheds...not sure how many total as I didn't count them... Problem is that the pic of the sheds is from filmed footage and there may be a conflict with showing the pic for a couple of reasons...waiting on the blessing before I post...
Ryan congrats on the set !! Looks like your team is on a roll. Any word from Fran ?? Last I heard from him... he was cussing out the snow. I don't see no snow in your picture do he must be tromping. Do we need to be worried he got himself lost or worse... ran into another mean beaver and this time didn't get away?? LOL Tim
Congrats !! Looking forward to the pictures. Geeze we just saw 5 bucks on Sunday still carrying. One was a half rack. Wish they would drop before they start spreading out too much to their normal spring/summer areas. The one good thing is the sloughs are getting full of water and they shouldn't drop them in the cattails now. Well at least I hope they don't !! Tim
Here is my first, and second find of the year, I'm gunna put a tape to the good one this weekend! Sorry about the crummy pics, they are from my phone....seems like every time I forget the camera...I find a shed or two. Need to do that more often
That's crazy Tim! I haven't seen a buck carying for quite some time now! I hear ya on the swamps buddy, they are a pain...I got brave/stupid and WET today And hey guys, if you will...please check the totals I have for all of you...I don't wanna miss any! Thanks!
Really wet here too. Slushing in mud in the fields. Tyler was crossing some ice and water and about took a header Sunday. I hit the same spot a few seconds later and about lost it too. About a half hour before... I broke through the ice but it was pretty shallow in that spot. A guy has to really watch his step now. Tim
Snow's off and I was back after it again on Saturday, so I strapped up the mud boots and went trompin'. I trucked home with another half-dozen, bringing my total to 22. I found a pretty solid fresh set (115'ish) and a really great 5x side, but it was a year old and chewed to hell. Probably 65"ish. Unfortunately, I think I only have one more day left on my best private land before I will have covered everything that I mapped out. Rybo: I got your text and never got around to responding. That's a GREAT find for PA. I've only ever found one matched set in PA that would be in that class. Let's plan a Good Friday Ohio Trip. I'm off that day, and the wife works! Woohooo! I might even take some beer along.
Fran, that's a negative ghost rider. These SOB's took away good friday when I transferred divisions. Otherwise I'd have definitely had that day pegged for some time in the woods.
Alright here are my 2 plus one my son found that was a match with mine. Dead one a cousin found in Central, Wi
