What's shakin' Kyle? Long time, no see.

Let it be known that Team 6 is on the board... 2 sets.

I was hunting this buck on Saturday, and he left his calling card under my treestand.

Sometime around midday, I was scanning the ground with my bino's and saw the match, sticking up out of the snow. I picked it up at dark, when i got down.

The set scored 124" with a 15.5" inside spread credit. 35-40 yards apart.

The next set were only laying a few feet apart. I found them a couple weekends ago.

Chalk 4 up for the good guys.

    Rock on, Gentlemen.

I'm heading out this week-end to set up my trail cam and do some looking for sheds. I'll also be making a trip out to my mule deer country where we have found a bunch of sheds early in the year. Hopefully some fresh ones will be there.

    We need a team name.

    "Thuggish Ruggish Boners."

    "Bones by the inch."

    "Horndogs"

    "Bonebastic, Really Fantastic."

    "Fuzzy Wuzzy Bunnies."

    Just a few suggestions.

    Deep Wood Boners?

    Barried bone hunters

    Barried Boners

Is that a Antler in your pocket?

    Bone hounds

I'm horrible at thinking of names

Kyle, I think you should petition Academic Affairs to grant you 3 extra credits for a semester of "Becoming a Badass Shedhunting Zenmaster."

...a course taught by none other than the human shed-magnet himself, The Undisputed King.

I can make some calls to the Dean's office if you need me to. :)

Off topic, but is Germ in this contest? I didn't see his name on the signup.

So how many sheds is everybody going for? I'm aiming for 20. We'll see if I get there. I think I got 23 last year, but the last couple sheds came in turkey season and over the summer.

LOL Fran, I'll email the dean a.s.a.p.

Germ isn't signed up, I think he is scared :)

As for the amount of sheds, I haven't any idea. I don't really set a numbers goal, as much as seeking the head ornaments of the deer I have a history with. That being said, I just picked up some more primo ground that holds a lot of deer later in the season, so I hope to see what's there.

I've also never found a matching set, hoping to do that this year, as well.

I just got back from setting up my trail cam and looking for beds. I came across lots of beds and good rub areas. I also found one shed that looked like it was from last year. It's nothing big, but seems like there would be good charactor on this deer. I'll be posting pictures tomorrow night.

It's just a little guy, but I'll be keeping a eye on my trail cam to see when the deer are dropping their antlers. Also hopefully some snow will melt to make things a little easier. There was no snow under most trees, but almost a food of snow anywhere else.

I'll be happy to find one. but I do plan to look a lot more than last year. I'll go back to where I found 3 of the 4 I found last season and hit that pretty hard. I'll probably start hitting it much earlier too(this weekend) It's 5 minutes from my house so I have no excuses. The way I see it, there shouldn't be a lack of time spent & miles hiked. I have to learn new areas in Ohio & I am getting ready for a half marathon, so any time spent hiking/shed hunting knocks out 2-3 birds. :)

I might try making a shed trap like I've read in other teams threads. I've done some reading online and have a couple good ideas on how to make one. I'm going to keep a eye on my trail cam to see when they start dropping them so I know when a good time will be to set up my trap.

I never thought I would actually get excited to look for lost antlers. haha.

    thanks dawg.

If anyone in here finds a nice matching set from a 4 point or bigger that they don't want to keep, I'll pay for shipping if you want to ship them to me. I'm looking for a pair for rattling and would preffer to have a real set of antlers instead of some fabricated ones. I'm going to probably wait til near the end of this contest to ask anyone to ship the antlers just incase I find myself a nice pair. Just something to keep in mind.
