Hell I'd be pumped to have to kill a 120 inch buck a mile out. I'd drag a Booner for 5 miles...I ain't kidding
20 minutes and it begins. The next 10 days will pretty much be it as far as antlers go. Once it is done next time I am out I'll have a .44 Mag in my hand. Only once in 8 years have I seen a big 10 after firearm season, and that was on Dec. 20th.
I got up to my cabin yesterday, and haven't seen a deer yet. Haven't seen any rutting activity, and the cameras have been quiet. The remainder of days to my bowhunting season can be counted on 1 hand. Excluding late season where I have had zero luck in the past. I'm not giving up yet, but it's not looking good. This team has potential to put 1000 points on the board in less than a week. I need some anlter pics to give me one last push of motivation boys. Help me out here! I can guarantee that at least 4 bucks on the scorecard for our team before this weekend is over...at least
Stopped on the way home and picked up a couple buck bombs. Love the stuff to help cover my scent. Winds are going to be pretty gusty over the next few days. Leaves will be dropping and the woods opening up. Also picked up a small blind seat. If I see cruising like I have in years past I know where I need to move, just not a place I can get in and put a stand on the fly. 9 hours away, hopefully the rain has moved out by first light. I am anxious to get back out there where I belong.
Had a big 12 point come through chasin a doe this afternoon on a new piece of property I got permission to hunt this AM! Sent from my arrow using Mathews
Heading into one of my prime spots tomorrow morning. I've waited to hunt this spot since March. Even though the Temps will be 59 degrees in the morning I will have a needed south wind. This is the first time this place had been open in a week and I don't know when it will be open again due military training.
For sure! May take a day or two to drag him out but I'll get him out! Sent from my arrow using Mathews
Short day today, but that's ok. Optimism at it's highest for the next 3 days. Today was a bit of a bonus. Gibes me time to go get all my physician notes and rehab reports for my sgoulder so I can get them in to Aflac. Probably a good time to get an oil change as well
We'll Missouri's early firearm youth season was last weekend heard several shot close around my lease and two of my shooters have been Mia since then starting to wonder if the kiddos got them ... Still have one shooter showing up. I watched a small 6 point make a few rubs this morning then I had a 4 pointer walk right under me and 4 does deer are moving just not the ones I'm after
