Rolled in at 10 last night and has been raining ever sense. Looks like it should be done about 1pm. Hopefully slip in for an evening hunt! Sent from my arrow using Mathews
Saw quite a few deer had a pretty nice 8 in range but I kept second guessing if I should shoot him because of the others I have on camera so I let him walk hope that doesn't turn out to be a bad decision
It's been slow for me. Hardly any action. One more day down south and then up north I go Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Slow hunting for us the past few days. Ain't going to slow me down. I've never really had a good place to hunt so all I know how to do is keep hunting, keep grinding. I don't care of it 75 degrees or 15 degrees, I'm getting aggressive and going for it.
The young bucks seem to be getting on their feet during day light for all my friends around here and a few nice ones have hit the dirt the weekend. I think this week and weekend coming up things will really start to get rolling.
Just checking in to report nothing. I will be leaving for Kansas to hunt November 9 -12 then heading back to MO to hunt a couple days before the orange army takes over. I have been a handful of times and saw the one buck that I would like a crack at, but he was 94 yards from the stand I was in. I haven't even had a shot at a doe, so to say I'm underwhelmed with my hunting opportunities would be an understatement. I will be burning some vacation days over the next few weeks. Hope to report good news soon.
Sometimes as captain you have to make choices that are best for the team..... So onto plan C, or D or something. Somewhere in this thread I mentioned I procrastinate a lot. Well, it was true and you were warned I am going back to work tomorrow through Thursday(possibly Friday but rain forecast anyway) and taking my new vacation as originally planned next week. The temps are too outrageous for me, today through Thursday(my actual paid vacation) just too hot to hunt. Literally seen a frog on stand lol. I'm chalking it up to the old adage, "go with your gut instinct" and my original dates were next week. Luckily my work was accomodating, although I went in face to face rather than call and let them devise their own tactic Either way while I was getting a good tan this afternoon I decided ai was going back to work tomorrow rather than burn vacation. With any luck this weekend will still get it done, maybe cancel next week as well. Anyhow, mid to upper 70's is not all day sit weather, I'm down but not out.
CLS, good decision. As for me, the temps will be in the 70's all week. Sunday a front moves in and the temps will drop 20 degrees going into Monday the 9th. Pressure is looking to be around 30.5 which is really high. I predict the 9th will be dynamite.
It was the only decision I had really. Drive too far to justify 6 more all day sits or just mornings only. One thing I do like, I got a taste of all the weather. Coold and dry, cool and damp and warm and awful Strategies were formed, implementation is yet to be seen. If it was highs in the 50's this week, guaranteed bucks down all week. But near 80's just ruined the potential
I agree brother, you made the right choice based on all the info. Im looking forward to you being successful.
Going off script tomorrow. A lot of hunting pressure right. I scouted the other hunters now I'm going in blind in the morning...old school topo and aerial stand pick.
