Lol, I think it's the right call actually.

Think it was the 2012 thread VS was talking about having 20 doe go by.

This year is team 6's, the rest of them just don't know it yet!

Currently sitting in 17th, dth has been a machine, the rest of us are about to commence a smack down of epic proportions.

Watch your 6, little do they know that was a warning to the rest of the teams

    PS, your inbox is overflowed

That deer was the greatest thing ever. I was grunting at him thinking he was a young buck not caring if I spooked him. Didn't know that until I watched the footage of it later.

Then when he came down thrashing trees and a little disgruntled, eye level 12yds, came in to 7yds before stopping, freaking and busting out. Yet he only went 12 yds and actually started walking back just w bad camera angle. The rest of the story is on my wall and forever in my memory.

Hunt had it all right down to being busted but busting him right back. Highs and lows all within a matter of 10 seconds.

So what are your plans for the rut? All day sits? You guys do grunting, rattling and bleats? Using scents? Or are you setting up in a spot sit back and wait for the deer? I usually take a primos can, rattle bag and a grunt call and some scent. Used buck bomb last year thinking about using tinks spray #69 but not sure yet.

My plan is all day sits beginning 10/30. May be a waste that early but I have nothing better to do and no one to please

I haven't hunted much yet, have gas money set back and most importantly the desire to kill the biggest buck of my life.

I'll have a grunt tube, can call and buck bomb(cover scent mostly) on stand with me. Rattle bag every now and then but not confident in that where I am at.

As for scent, the past few years I have bought from a local place to me from an endorsement of a previous member. After the first year, the place was actually featured on Larry the Cable guy's "only in america" or whatever it was.

Once I seen that, I stopped buying and believing in estrous scents.

Does are the best estrous scent available, i try not to shoot any of them when the time is right. Other than that it's blind luck as I have never been in a position to hunt a certain buck.

Hunting Fri and Saturday morning, work 4 days, then my vacation begins Thursday morning! I'd really like to put down a doe by Halloween.

All the dang decoy threads popping up in bowhunting talk got to me.

Got a scarface decoy set to arrive tomorrow. Grabbed some large plastic bags here at work for toting it around.

Going to take it out Saturday and cover it with some burlap in the thick stuff so all the rain next week will wash it down.

I already know where and how I'm going to position it. Now to see if I can figure out how to mount my handy cam to the crossbow and still be able to use the remote and see the screen. Just over a week away from unrelenting whitetail pursuit!

I was trying to ignore them but sense you posted I decide to do the same! Scarface decoy should be here between Monday and Tuesday along with my climber and a few extras! just in time for my northern huntcation!

Heading out in the AM. Supposed to rain, but I ain't skeered. Going to sit in my public land stand, if the wind is right, may have to stick to the ground if not.

Tomorrow night is looking like a good night to get out and try the new ladder stand I put up 2 weeks ago! Wind is supposed to be out of the N - NE and then switch back to a W - NW for the weekend.
