Heading in soon to hunt. Since the early doe season opened about 20 days ago Ive only hunted two hours. Work has been a killer.
Cls I'm a safety manager for a construction company I administer the quick cup on site tests and they come up positive for anything from prescriptions to the cup being faulty if they aren't stored at proper temp they shot positives a lot if you don't have drugs in your system or a prescription drug is throw it off you should have no worries
Yeah, my worries are pretty much gone. I'm being paid for time missed, hoping it will still be overtime should I work this weekend. Should hear from them hopefully tomorrow if not Friday. I was just a bit freaked out by it with today's technology
Well just about to wrap up tonights hunt saw one fork horn and a doe with two fawns. Gonna start packing up the camera gear and head back to the house. Was definitely a hunt needed to escape and relax! I forget sometimes how relaxing it is to just sit a tree and clear the head!
Heading in to make my final stand preps on two stands. Then next weekend the general bow season opens.
Starting to get excited for next weekend. I likely won't be able to get out until Sunday, but it's looking like the first good shot of cold air is set for Sunday. Granted this could speed up or slow down, but it has support from a couple models. Couldn't ask for better timing here in the midwest
Heading to the stand yet again trail cam shows about 15 does hitting this oak flat pretty frequently and two bucks that is really like to get a chance at
Might need your guys opinion here. Im trying to decide if this deer is 1.5 or 2.5? Im gonna guess 1.5 but im puzzled on this one, he just showed up and I'm also not sure if its the way he's standing or does he only have 3 legs?
On a positive note, my test was negative. Back to work I go Saturday, already committed to plans tomorrow
I'll try to upload this video clip hopefully it works. if you guys can view it you can skip to minute 2:00 of the video to watch the shot. I know the video quality isn't amazing but its clear enough to see the shot just fine. I shot this doe tonight and after 40 yards of good steady blood I started to see less blood and after about 80 yards I lost blood all together. I spent 3 hours looking tonight but will be going back in day light just not sure why the blood stopped. Maybe I am not seeing this shot correctly but I felt like I hit the 10 ring on this one or darn close. I have been bow hunting since I was 11 years old and feel like I would take this shot placement 10/10 times. copy paste this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmd0PkAW-50&feature=youtu.be
Just now got to watch it, that looks like a dead deer to me. Looked solid near side lung, bottom of opposite side. No clue why the blood stopped. While the video wasn't great by any means, unless your arrows fly vertical I don't see how that didn't at least single lung her. Hopefully you're elbows deep or dragging her out already. Good luck in your search.
