LOL, man, I hope my hunting buddy does'nt see that. He's already terrified of the woods in the dark!!
I think that photo is Dave Bailey under the full effect of the rotgut we gave him while elk hunting. Even after several months, the Brits cannot handle their "Canadian Hunter".
It looks like I won't be getting back out to a stand for at least another 3 weeks. The house has to be finished, and moved into by January 1st, so I can't see myself finding any free time over the next few weeks.
wait a second PT ........those were the same exact words you blurted to me man.....Scott's turn to lay the smack down LOL I hear ya on the house projects Scott, best of luck with them and I hope you get to get out for a couple of sits over the holiday season.
Matter of fact, I think it was the very morning you shot your buck and doe ... so you see, there is a method to my madness
At this point in the season I need all the help I can get PT....so if it worked for Reese, then why not me? The week after New Years I MAY be able to do an afternoon hunt.
I had a great Sunday... I rousted my 10 y/o daughter out of bed at 3am and packed her up snug as a bug with pillows and blankets in the extended portion of my truck. I thought, "The lucky little star... I can remember days like this with my father". You see, while daddy made the three hour drive to McGrew, Nebraska, Danielle had the luxury of snoozing. The two of us were off to hunt white-tailed deer. She was armed with a 50 cal. muzzleloader and I brought along my best guiding tools (my sole purpose was to serve as guide). We spent the entire day in a heated pop-up ground blind. For a father, the day could not have been better! We saw a total of 30 deer and one skunk. We had three real close encounters, but we just couldn't get a shot off... There's a nice solid eight pointer who should be counting his blessings. If Dani would have had her crossbow, he would have gotten a free ride back to Colorado. The cbow is her weapon of choice. She's a lot more comfortable shooting it. In my haste to get on the road, I failed to load my camera...sorry, no pics. Aaron, will you stop screwing around and get your priorities right! Hang tough Scott! Matt, I wish you would have been with me today...shootable does everywhere! Isaiah, any time after the Monday night game? Clint, feel it and make it happen!
Got out for a little while Saturday afternoon but picked the wrong stand. The deer all fed in from the opposite end of the field never had a deer within 300 yards. I'll probably get out at least once this weekend but I'm down to just a couple more sits.
x2...sorry your late season bowhunts are screwed Isaiah...but this Bears fan is enjoying it. How special is Devin Hester?
thx guys! yeah not really sure when im gonna get out.... not a better guy than the "Windy City Flyer"
so last night i was on my way back to work from the Hawks game and what did i see??? a deer laying on the side of the road.... got out checked her limbs for rigors and called the cops. he showed up we checked for arrow/bullet entry/exit holes, found none. i dressed her out and off to the butchers! i'll take em any way i can get em' =-) now i just need to put a buck on the ground and pull my weight!
Merry Christmas gents.... The season is definitely winding down, but stay after it! We're hunters, right? We'll be sitting on our hands soon enough without a season... I've got one more buck tag to fill. I'll be in N. Mexico Jan.1st-3rd. I still want to fill my "any deer tag" (becomes a doe only tag Dec. 31st) for South Dakota. I might run up there Jan 8th and 9th. Up the score!
Merry Christmas fella's From my family to yours, wishing you all the best of the season!!! Best of luck to you guys that are still at it!!
