Updated scores have been posted. It looks like Team 7 has pulled within 70 or so points of us. Keep pluggin lads.

On Sunday, I'm taking my daughter to Nebraska for a little M/L hunting. I'm hoping she gets to shoot at least a doe. 2010 is winding down, where did the year go? Amazing...

I'll hit the road running in 2011. My first hunt of the year is Jan 1st-3rd. I'll be hunting desert mule deer near Pinon , New Mexico. I hoping to score not only a deer, but also a little revenge on the feral hogs in the area. Two years ago, a tribe of pigs ate my 5x5 desert gaint. I arrowed the brute right at dusk and thought it would be better to recovery him in the morning. The next day, my blood trail ended in pig poop and an uprooted area about the size of a house. I'm sure what was left of the carass was hauled away never to be seen again...pig will eat anything!

I have not hunted in almost two full weeks. Gun season ended this past Saturday so now it is time for me to hit it hard again and hope for a late season buck. Going to deploy my game cams this weekend to see what made it through gun season.

Will, on the plus side I have been talking with the farmer down the road from my house and so far he seems receptive to us hunting his property next year. He is not a big fan of gun hunters so I did tell him it would be bow only. Really nice property, I drive past it to and from work, have seen some really nice bucks there.

Hunt hard and be safe guys

    Dave

No worries Dave, I like my bows over guns just fine. Let's make it happen.

Make sure you do not grab your buck by the antlers guys! The bucks seem to be dropping early this year!

If 2 words could sum up my season so far it would:

    Close Calls

I had Windy tending to a yearling doe tonight, while 2 small bucks fought it out for nearly an hour. They were about 100 yards away, but what makes it sting is that they were within range of another stand I have hung. It was a GREAT hunt though.

That is a picture from another website off someone else camera. Trust me if that was off one of my camera's the knife I carry in the woods would be a machete instead of a four inch blade))))

If I got "a legit" picture like that out of my woods, I would probably never hunt again....

I went out last night, ended up seeing quite a few deer but unfortunately my luck still sucks with the does. I did have 3 different bucks, 2 good ones and one serious up and commer within 30 yards. Both the good ones were busted up so they got a pass. Gotta figure out what I'm doing wrong with the does.

We got snow today, took tomm. off to hunt. I always like to hit the woods after a fresh snow, best way I know to verify trails in and out of a property.

    Be safe hunt hard
