Sorry teamies, I've been out chasing speed goats with a few boyz from New Zealand and Australia. Both are here to do the BH.com elk hunt starting Sept. 18th. The two lads decided to come early and go for a "four slam"...pronghorn, mule deer, elk, and whitetail. They both got the hard critter out of the way, IMO This is Grant Bowd's pronghorn. He's the bloke from OZ Sorry, I do not have a photo of the second goat (film cameras suck....and so ten years ago). They're going to start hunting mule deer tomorrow (during the week). Then on Friday we're all heading into the mountains to set up the elk camp. We'll hunt early and late...the camp will go up during the middle of the day (11th and 12th). The rest of the group will start arring on the 16th. The official hunt starts on the 18th and runs through the 26th. I'm sending Grant and Scottie to S. Dakota on the 27th. Hopefully they'll get their whities. It's been a gas hosting them!
That is awesome Will. Looks like you are doing your part as a guide for those 2. Can't wait to hear how the BH.com elk hunt goes.
We still need a team name. From the ones that have been thrown out there these caught my eye.... Rack Smack Tineacious Autumn Obsession Carbon Injection Sneaking Suspicions If anyone else likes these, sees another, or can think of a different one go ahead and throw it out there. The name doesn't really matter much to me, just whatever everyone else wants to do.
I think this group is tenacious ... ...so my vote is for Tineacious .... plus it's original ... I think
Good looking pics guys! I pulled cameras off one farm this weekend and heading out to set up tonight on what has been our big buck ground the last few years. Good results on the last set, lots of bucks but no new slammers, lots of pics of the big 8 and split brow that I posted last week. They are definitely living on the farm. Hopefully opening weekend I'll have some new big boys to share.
Who am I to say no? make it so. Had the boys above timberline tonight-farther west than the forest fire burning above Boulder, Co. They were given a real treat. We had a 6x7 bull bugle about 300 yards in front of us. He then walked right into the open and stood broadside for ten minutes. Five minutes later we were 15 yards from a shiras moose. That moose was followed by two more 30 minutes later...then a doe mule deer stepped out (Scott made a play on the deer but she heard him). They're going back tomorrow while I work.
WoW! .... how I long to be there with you guys .... So Scott is our Cap'n and the team name is Tineacious ... OK boys ... let's get an avatar ... who can make 'em? Aaron ....dont you do that stuff?
Unbelievable. It is a dream of mine that I will be able to make it out to Colorado for an elk hunt one day. Sounds like your guests are having a great time.
Uhh... not really, we might have to... dare I say it... get an "outsider" to do it... I believe he goes by the name of MGH PA.:D
Pink hippoes in tu-tus and ballet shoes would be fitting. What does "tineacious" mean anyway? Is that a dog that won't let go of a tin can?
