It better not bit in WMU 6!!! Dude...the deer don't need a hard winter up there this year. Put a dome over NW Ontario please.
Dan...NOPE....have a buddy in Dryden area that offered me a stand on his property.... And your right my friend...we need an EASY winter here for them...all the small lakes iced over nicely and then WHAMMO!!!! 15inches of snow on them...now the ice is $hit. Already had 3 calls of deer breaking thru the ice from customers of mine...so...its not going to be an easy winter on the deer, unfortunately
Monkey ****. Hopefully the snow doesn't keep piling up. Saw a lot of fawns this year....good recruitment. We need another good year of recruitment....and for a certain resort to go under.
Guys I will still be heading to a stand every chance I get, but my time will be limited from here till New Years. After this weekend, we will be kicking things into a higher gear with the house, hoping to have it ready to move into by Christmas. While I may not be able to hunt much over the next month, January SHOULD be different. Late season here in Illinois is a whole different ball game, but I won't kill one sipping coffee from my couch.
Hunt with your heart Scott...we have faith. Isaiah, what does your schedule look like? Can you sneak hunts in during your home games? Good luck with your doe Reese. When I was in Alberta, the news was carrying all the snow coverage in Ontario. It looked like you folks were getting pounded. Be safe, eh!
Its not me that I am worried about Will, LOL I have a 17y/o stepdaughter that has a heavy foot. The lots of go isnt much of a problem, its the lack of WHOA!!! 99% of the people say OH $HIT when heading for the ditch, the rest are from Northwestern Ontario and we say, Hold my beer and watch this!! LOL Scott, you will be fine man.....hard work pays off, in more ways than one, it happened to me my friend, it will happen to you!!!
typically i can get out on tuesday (weather is nasty today) and fridays. mondays sometimes if we win the prior sunday... way it sits now i'll have an extra day to hunt the week of the vikes cause its on monday night! in past years i've hunted the two weeks in January hard, but hoping to be busy still playing THIS yr =-)
Isaiah, My ten y/o daughter is hoping you're still playing in January too. She's a die hard Bears fan! She parades around in her Devin Hester jersey whenever the Bears are televised. She says she's going to play for the Bears someday! Who am I to doubt her? LOL... Good luck out there brotha!
Your team could really really need the following: http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?p=257276#post257276
i love it when young folks get excited about the sport or any sport for that matter! especially little girls and young women. so many times the pic is painted of the women shopping or in the kitchen when "the big game" is on. why not make it a family thing and get everybody involved!? Huck, please tell her thanks for the support we all are very thankful for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter loves football but she comes by that honestly. For being 7 she understands the game more than a lot of men that I know. I had a proud moment just last weekend watching a game when she stood up and yelled at the TV "THAT'S HOLDING! THROW THE FLAG REF!" Oh yeah, she also thinks that my hunting blind is hers cause about the only time I use it is when I take her out. Can't seem to get her interested in cleaning animals though. ; p
that would've been sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! tell her to keep cheering and watching and rooting for whatever team she wants for whatever reason! hope YOU enjoyed Soldier!
Tomorrow is the start of our 4 day, 2nd gun season. I'm going to still hunt the public land by my house, as soon as I get off work. I've had a lot of success in years past using this method. Just hoping to fill my last gun tag on a doe, if given the chance. That way my last remaining freezer space will be saved up for that late season buck! If we stay on schedule, we should be spraying primer on all the walls Saturday afternoon, and ready to paint Sunday. Just leaves flooring, trim, and the actual moving part.
Good luck to the guys hunting this weekend, I'll be hunting winged creatures. I'm off to OK/TX for a long weekend of pheasant hunting and football. Go Big Red!
