Didn't hunt today temps around 70 and the wind blowing extremely hard. Last night was fun though. Had 15+ deer come into my set up. A bobcat slipped by at 32 yards, stopped him and shot but missed. About 2 minutes later he comes back to the same spot and I miss again. He takes off running and all hell breaks lose. I hear deer blowing and running everywhere. Soon I have three different bucks in front of me and a few does. Don't know if it was the bobcat or me shooting that brought them out. They all seemed to hit the spot where my arrows were. Sniffing around and stuff. None of the bucks were big enough to shoot unfortunately as they all would have been easy targets. Much easier than a bobcat anyways. So I get down and check my arrows. I figured out why all the deer were stopping by my arrows, there was a scrape I didn't know about. I'll be back at it Tuesday as a cold front creeps it's way back in. Hopefully the bigger deer start showing up soon. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any. Been hearing a bunch of rifle shots lately. Funny how those guys always site their rifles in around 4:30.

Congrats Feb! What an awesome season you've had my friend!

Congrtas on the doe Tony. Yep, a deer killing machine...

Scott, man Fyer is a toad, what a cool looking deer! Hope you drill him!

Clint, they'll come. Stay after it! Drop a doe if you get a chance. Who knows, it might be a good play from Reese's playbook!

Dave, man you know how to make a guy hungry!

I'm back from South Dakota. I didn't see a whole lot within bow range. The rifle hunters up there have the deer running scared. I was also hunting with a gent suffering from bone cancer; a shot for him was my priority. He took eight-one at a forky deer and seven at merriam's turkeys. The two of us were having a blast! I wish I would have had a turkey tag. This morning I had a turkey parade under my stand. There must have been close to 100 birds walk past-a mixture of gobblers and hens.

    Keep pushing guys!

It looks like Team 7 is pouring it on and I'm sure Team 19 isn't finished. It's a must we guard our lead.

Here's what we need to do to completely tag out (has any team ever accomplished that task?). Let's go for it!

Matt, you need a doe and a buck.
Isaiah, any Illinois buck would do nicely.
Scott, we're counting on you to drop a monster.
Clint, a kansas buck takes us over the top.
    Aaron, bring home the horn.

guys didnt hunt yesterday but sat saw 6 different smaller bucks and let a 115-120 walk under my stand to "littleshooter" trying to get her, her first deer with a bow. she scolded me "that i had better arrow him next time and quit passing on bucks for her sake!" she named him king... cause he was sooooo tall he looks like the burger king crown guy.

i'll send trail cam pics tomorrow and let me know what you guys think, if i should get him or not!

It's going to be tough for me to get a buck guys. My friends place I hunt put me on pretty strict restrictions this year. I can't shoot anything under a 160. They are there, at least in the past they have been, but not behind every tree so to speak. I might have to go on my dads place and get something smaller.

Dang, I don't know how I would be able to let a 140" deer walk. If you do find one that goes above their limits then that would be AWESOME. We also need your doe on the scorecard, let's keep the distance between us and the other teams!

We still have the lead, and I'm going to give it my best to put a buck down. However, my time may be limited from here on out with working on the house.

Scott, I posted the doe to the score page yesterday so it should be added next time the scores are figured. Yep a 140 would be tough but I'd rather not lose my hunting grounds. If I can shoot a buck this year we should have this thing wrapped up.

Wow, I suck! I'm trying hard guys, just can't seem to catch a break this year. I went out this morning, had a small buck early and then a nice 8 chasing a doe that managed to stay just out of range and behind cover all the way around me.

Matt, don't put any pressure on yourself. Relax and it will happen. Just remember at any time in the woods magic can and does happen. Don't let this contest take away from your enjoyment of hunting.

Guys relax..........just hunt, it will happen. We are a team of individuals with different ideas of what we want from our hunting seasons. Hunt the way you want. Do not let the contest dictate or change the way you hunt. Enjoy the experience. Most of all be safe.

Agreed...everyone take a deep breath, say a little prayer, be thankful for friends and family, and have fun with the experience. If it were just a matter of killing, then we all know everyone would have been tagged out a long time ago. Nobody change a thing about the way you're hunting. It'll happen naturally...that's the magic of this team!

I have faith. And please do forgive me if my encouragement seems like it's meant to add pressure. It's not....let's have fun with this.

I was kidding around with the "Wow, I suck!", not really feeling any pressure just frustration. I've never seen so many good bucks but I've also never had so many close calls, that's where my frustration is coming from. I was telling my wife last night that I need to look at those close calls as a positive, in years past I haven't had that many close calls. All and all it has been a great year, I just need to close the deal.

I'm having a lot of fun with the contest, it is great checking in and seeing how its going for the team. I was telling PT last week in a text message that I can't get over how a website can pull people together. A couple guys have said they hope that we can win this thing so we can keep the team together and I'm right there with them, it's a great group of guys. Thanks for the support!
