I'll probably kill something his weekend...but it will fall to my Remington, not my Mathews.:biggun:

I also agree with you on that non-typical. The best way to have him stop haunting you, is to just send a carbon arrow right through his heart.

Will, sorry I missed your call. Was at a sports banquet with my son until 10pm lastnight. I will try to touch base with you tonight or Saturday midday.

    Dave,

I will try again today. I'm off to S.Dakota again by 5. I have zero phone coverage while I'm there. I'll be back home Sunday evening.

Hunt hard this weekend men! Let's stretch our command!

    Clint, did it happen?

Well my new move didn't help anything last night. Sat on the ground in a different part of the property and saw 0 deer. I had a big fat possum at 2 feet come in and that was it. Found a couple of coon trees I might try my first trapping exploits on later. Decided to take a brake this morning and recharge the batteries. Ran into a fellow hunter buddy in town and it seems many in this area are having the same trouble of not seeing the big bucks. He said alot of his friends are catching them on trail cameras just at night.

Will be back at it this eve. I have until the 31st of December to make it happen so there's still alot of time left.

Hey guys, I'm finally back from my "business trip". I have to wait until Monday to get back in the stand but I'm recharged and ready to roll once it is legal. It will be interesting to see how much the patterns have changed with the lead flying. I just pray they aren't all nocturnal.

I'm going to try like heck to put some points on the board!

Today was our gun opener, and I was completely surprised by the lack of shots heard.

We killed 4 deer on our farm. Me and my cousin each took does, while my brother in law shot a 120" 9 pointer, with a broken G-4. I figured him to be a 3.5 year old.

Another cousin shot the 8 pointer that I had on video, and passed on twice. I figured him to be a 115" 2 year old, and he taped out just a tad over 118.

This afternoon I hunted the same stand that I saw all the deer out of Wednesday. I saw 8 tonight, including Windy. He was chasing a doe, and I had him at 10 yards, but it just didn't seem right to take him with a gun, so his doe got the slug instead.

There was also a massive 200"+ killed just a couple miles north of our farm. I saw a cell phone pic, and the thing is incredible.

    Another trail cam update.

When I hung that stand that I have been hunting on Tuesday, I also went and hung a camera on the field edge, and I can't believe who showed up. The buck I have called Flyer all year finally allowed himself to have his picture taken. He was in the field at 4:30 on Wednesday morning, so there is a good chance that he heard me walk into the stand that morning.

This is my 4th pic of Flyer since late August, but my first since the season started on Oct. 1st. I can't remember another deer that I have ever wanted to kill more than this guy. It's hard to make out the flyer in the pic, but you can tell it is him by the tall spike/browtine on his left beam.

The top picture is the best I have of Flyer, and the bottom is the one just taken this past week.

Hey guys, just got back from an incredible week with another 50 to contribute!
Been cut off from the internet, and see that we are stomping, I love it!
Week started out slow, passed on some youngsters, only saw 2 shooters, and killed one on the last day :tu:
What a morning, I'm talking grunts, growls, snort wheezing, all 20 yards away from me!
He's an awesome double throat patch 8, I took a small doe on Tuesday, and a big doe on our gun opener.
I'm officially tagged out, what am I gonna do with myself!?

Awesome FEB, congrats on the doe. Also, another amazing buck you put down. You had yourself a great season.

We have got this thing wrapped up almost, with these extra 100 points.

Finally and I mean Finally, Bear has gone to a roller system on thier new "Carnage bow". Being a Bear shooter all my life I see myself going to shoot this bow. Wonder how the wife would feel about an early Christmas present........lol. Something to ponder while I sit in the stand this morning.

No we don't ... there are teams that are close with multiple bucks yet to score ..... 2 more buck should cement it ...

Man I'm hoping to be able to send one out!!! I hunted Flyer with the shotgun tonight, but got skunked. Probably won't be back in the stand with a bow until next Saturday afternoon, and then again all day Sunday. They took 2 does with the guns today, and my cousins girlfriend shot her first deer ever, a little button buck.

I got a phone call from one of my best friends, today. He went out for his first ever deer hunt last night, and right around 5:00 killed a GREAT 11 pointer. While that in itself was special enough, there is a little more to the story.

In early October, a young man was killed in a turnover crash coming home one night. My friend Jordon was very, very close with him, and had a pretty rough time with it. Last night Jordon headed out behind where the guy had lived, and sat on a hillside, and hadn't seen a deer until the buck came walking down a trail and he dropped him. I'd have to say that there was a smiling face looking down on him last night when he grabbed hold of those antlers.
