Still haven't made it out yet with bow in hand. Sat in the truck last evening and saw 9 deer. All were does and fawns. My bother-in-law hunted one of my stands this morning and saw a small 8 and 10. Have to work next weekend and then it's time to get in the stand. I'm starting to get antsy. This is the furthest into the season I've ever gone without hunting. Good luck everyone. Hopefully I'll have something to post soon.

Same EXACT thing happened again tonight. Only difference was it was 2 spikes chasing all the doe's. These young bucks are making me mad))).

I had a good hunt this morning. I got into a ladder stand that I killed my buck out of in '06. Right at dawn I could hear deer walking. It ended up being 4 does. I ranged them at 24 yards, picked out the biggest doe, and drew. I could see my pins just fine, but I was having a hard time getting on the deer in the low light. Ended up having to let them walk. At 7:45 I had a spike cross the creek behind me.

Tonight I went to where I sat last night, and got skunked.

However I do have some more trail cam pics to share with you, and this first buck is a freaking stud. I'm 99.9999% sure these pics are of the same buck.

This one was taken by the stand I killed my buck out of last year.

I had few snapshots that were taken about 1/2 mile away. The pictures are hard to see, but when blown up, you really get to see just what this buck is carrying.

This picture really gets at me. I have a stand on the backside of a tree in the background. Would of had this buck at 40 yards had I been there that morning. I had a couple pics of him during my last run of pictures at this same camera. There also appears to be some kind of growth on him.

And again while coming home, I saw the giant crossing the road by the public land. I'm taking a friend up to hunt here tomorrow afternoon, and it's a long shot, but I'm praying I get a crack at him. He has trash going everywhere.

Had a cool encounter this morning. I sat on the edge of a cut bean field with a buck decoy 23 yards in front of me. I saw a fork at first light, and then at 7:30, the 8 point I ran into earlier this year responded to me rattling. He postured and grunted at the decoy, and was almost nose to nose with it before bolting. He was 5 yards from my tree at one point, and I still couldn't talk myself into shooting him.

Heading out in a bit for an afternoon hunt.

    Great Job Dave, Congrats!

Stay focused Scott! Way to let that little dude pass.

I had an eventful weekend, no bone though. I didn't see any chasing activity at all in S. Dakota. Heck, I didn't see any sign of rutting activity whatsoever. Three bucks passed by me. The closest was out there at 200 yards. Of the 9 does I saw, only two came close enough to fill a tag, and fill a tag I did. I used my longbow to drop a fat does from 22 yards...pics and video pending. I'm fired up to hunt Illinois this coming weekend!

Way to stay after it guys!

    Great buck Dave!!! Congrats!

My hunting buddy shot a good buck this weekend and we got pictures of several of our big boys traveling in daylight now. I'm planning on going out everyday this week, it's full on out there. Get out and hunt boys!

BIG Congrats on the doe with the longbow Will!

I'll hopefully make it out 2 times this week for afternoon hunts, and starting Friday I am off 6 straight days.

HOLY SMOKES ISAIAH, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU KNOCK HER OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND! Congrats man!

Thanks Scott. The longbow definitely upped the degree of difficulty.
