    Made meat!

    Good job.

My sit started out great. 2 fawns came out within minutes of getting in the blind.
Had em too close for a while.
They fed in my oats plot for quite awhile then boogies over to the neighbors corn.
2 does right at dark. Thats it.
Dismally sit over a totally tore up scrape.

Well I’m going to be getting a lot of stand time over the next few days...I’ve got off until next Wednesday. I’m hoping to get some meat in the freezer and points on the board!

Well team. Bummed out here. The one date of the year (i will be in a stand), my birthday.
Took what I thought was a quick snooze and woke up an hour late.
Too late to get in a tree.
Salvaged the sorrow by taking a tour before dark.
Holy balls were the deer moving!
Stopped n had a few beers at the local tavern at dark.
Didn't spend a dime so I quess that was good?
Looks like a warm up is coming for the next 10 days here.
May have to go balls to the walls.
I will still hold out for an older buck for the next 3 weeks.
I have no desire to shoot another 125 "deer unless I deem it an older buck..
What some of you fellas have to go through too even SEE a deer boggles my mind.
I'm used to parking and walking "maybe) 1/2 mile at the most to my stands. Often less then 200 yards.

Truly, my hats off to you fellas:hail:

VS, that scrape is huge for sure!
I cut that red oak out of the woods, took a post hole digger and dug a hole in a strategic spot and stuck it in.
    Been doing it for years.

A lone tree with the right limbs in the open can do wonders. Fun to do.
Important tho, its gotta be VISIBLE!

Quick story for those interested, he came in following/chasing a doe, and was grunting quite a bit. I first saw him about 50 yards out and then he got into some thick stuff off to my right. My dad was sitting in a stand about 100 yards off to my right as well so I thought maybe he was heading that way. He popped back out off to my right again about 40 yards walking right at me. He got broadside at 12 yards in front, I mouth bleated him to stop and shot. Got both lungs and clipped the heart too, he went less than 50 yards and piled up!
