Well I went out this morning and I didn't get see a thing. So I went on to work anxious about todays opener. Well I was expecting a doe to come in but it didn't happen in the a.m. so I told myself once I got off I was gonna get back in my stand and try it again an what do u know 15 min before legal light I let an arrow go and it met its mark team. It was very low light and I actually got lucky again because I neck shot this buck but it must have hot the main vein because it instantly dropped first bow opener buck first neck shot. I wanted it that bad fellas. He wad a buck that I got on camera a while ago that I named bad genes cuz of the narley rack on it it has a split brow which is cool on the right side and one main beam so I just wanted to gey him out and that's what happend. I still haven't measured him yet but I will shortly for score but there you have it Men. I'm still after the big 8. Plus my doe tags

Congrats guys! I got out this afternoon, saw 5 does/fawns and a small buck on the way in to my stand. Ended up putting a stalk on them and got busted just as I started to draw, nothing else for the night but still a good night in the woods

Congrats on getting it done yesterday, fellas.

I didn't head out for the evening, but had I feeling I should have. Hopefully the trail cam doesn't make me regret staying at home.

Okay fellas, I'm hoping you guys can help me out here. I had a rough walk in yesterday morning as it seemed all the deer on the block were either bedded or feeding in the hay field. I'd say I jumped at least eight deer, one of which sounded like a horse galloping, so I suspect it was a buck. This was my first morning hunting the place, so I don't know if this is normal or not, but I'm thinking I need to pick a better entry route. I don't know if showing up earlier would have helped and I hate to make this an evening only spot as it is pretty much my only place to hunt. The green X is approximately where my stand is located. The black X is where I parked. The red line is the route I took through the field, the blue line is another possible route as it is a bit of a draw. I don't think it would have helped my situation yesterday as there were deer north of the first pond near where I enter the woods to access my stand. Any advice is appreciated....

Its sounds like there is so much activity on that property that ur bumpin deer as you go in. Sometimes as a bowhinter you have to settle for evening sits too but everbody schedule is different. If it was me I would set all day if at all possible it might sound a lil farfetched but it may help u determine there movement where there an u might even catch a cruiser bruiser coming through. My advice is to either set all day or find a more concealed entrance to the stand. Take your time going in keep ur eyes an ears open wide an be patient. Looks like a great spot by the way by the way.

Not much to conceal my entry as the property is mostly wide open hay fields. There is a bean field west of this property and it appears to still be on the green side. I'm thinking that might be part of the problem.

Nice work boys. You're knocking them down and I haven't even started yet. PA opens Saturday. I'll be away for a Hockey tourney. Hoping to get out Monday morning.

Goose- man I don't know there's really not many options without goin across the field like you already are. Could go straight across from truck and work up the edge of draw or in draw but I wouldn't be confident that wouldn't blow the field either. You could wait it out for a wind thats blowing from top to bottom of pic and work kinda slow and hope not to make enough noise to get busted. That really only help to not get winded though. Like said man that's tough, I have a similar area and I just kinda hope and pray don't blow to many deer off when coming into stand.

Well guys got the doe shot quartered up last night amd put into cooler. She made her way to the processors today so won't be too much longer. My buddy, who's farm I hunt, helped out cutting her up after a little joking about the small size. But it was all in fun and didn't go to bad. Will say that chisel tip did a number on her forgot to look at lungs because it was getting late but we found the heart to give to dog and it hadn't been hit. So to be honest I'm not sure what got hit to make her expire so quickly. Not a bad thing of course, I just find it interesting to see what happens and why.

I'll be heading out this weekend again, supossed to rain and be alot cooler out so should be good weekend. Good luck everybody and lets keep it rolling.

Congrats team!! Sounds like yesterday was a hot day!

As for myself I went out Saturday night and saw 6 does and fawns but none offered me a shot closer than 87 yards. Just a tad out of my range. Lol. I'm not sure when I'll be back out chasing again, but hopefully the rest of the team continues the hot streak!

I'm hoping once the beans turn yellow that it is no longer an issue. I'll probably give it another morning shot this weekend, as long as it isn't raining, and if I blow up the field again I'll make it an evening spot. The more I thought about it, that didn't seem like such a bad idea. Sleeping in on the weekends is always a plus in my book. If I absolutely have to do a morning sit I can always drive a little farther and go to my grandma's. I'm thinking the little storm with my aunt has passed over.

Would enjoy helping out with the map goose. Can you post a topo with property lines of the spot also? One thing to remember in farm country, deer love cover, its there safety net and darkness is the best cover of all. Deer will bed/feed right out in the open at night and chew the cud right there in the food source. In farm country, in daylight enter trough the fields, in the dark enter through the woods.

The attachments in this thread are the best I have...

    http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhun...ement-property-strategy-help-suggestions.html

The pin A is for reference purposes since the topo maps don't have the property lines on them.
